Too small.. I like him too to be honest but that's my guess. Either that or they want him to have more playing time down in the farm instead of getting 4th line minutes.

Is this a real guy, or a guy who is there just to get exposed in the expansion draft?

He is 100% expansion draft fodder to protect Hartman. They needed another forward to offer as he and Kruger were the only 2 who qualified. We gave up a 3rd round pick in a bad draft year to protect a solid rookie and have a few months of a depth guy. I call that a win.

Jurco needs to dress 10 more games to qualify for expansion draft. I bet he goes to black ace after he gets 10 games.

We got the wrong Tomas from Detroit. Tatar was the guy who would have made us better. Instead, we got a guy with -0.6 point shares.

Extensions for Tootoo and Rozsival. I know it's to be compliant for the expansion draft but fucking lol, Rozsival's Hawks career will outlive us all. He's gonna be like Gordie Howe with the Detroit Vipers, limping onto the ice to play one shift per season.

Not bad at all if he's healthy enough for the playoff grind and comes at the right price (low pick or Mark McNeill). We know what a top four of Keith-Seabrook-Hjalmarsson-Oduya can give us, then add Campbell, Kempny, and van Riemsdyk to round it out on the third pair. Hard not to feel good about that, IF, again, Oduya is close to 100%.

The only place Sharp seems to be going is injured reserve, however, so don't get any big ideas.

I'm still holding out hope for Shalunov coming over tomorrow -- and it would have to be tomorrow -- to shore up the bottom six. I don't want the Hawks to leave anything on the table this year.

Low pick and Mark McNeill but I'll take it. Welcome back, Johnny O.

I'm not sold on him as a heavy minutes guy again but he is just what the doctor ordered if he can stay healthy and he fits in and knows what Q wants so it won't be one of those trades where the guy just sits on the bench because he didn't cycle right and Q doesn't trust him.

This is fucking huge, we are winning the Stanley Cup. JO will take some stupid penalties but he should kickstart the D with his puck possession

I like the move if they can limit his minutes for the next two weeks and then slowly ramp him up into that full-time #4 defenseman spot by the time they get to the first game of the playoffs.

Are you kidding me? This is exactly what they needed to tighten things up for the playoffs.

1. Unrestricted free agent, so no long-term cap hit.
2. Great shot blocker
3. Q knows how to use him effectively
4. I can't believe they would have brought him back if any of Toews/Kane/Hossa/Keith/Seabrook/Crawford would have thought he wouldn't help

I don't know if it is a game changer for the Hawks but he was missed last year. The hawks have been in dire need of a 4th defender and just haven't developed one or signed one really since he left. Its not that I love him or anything but I think he is a better option than anything else on the roster now. I would love to have had Frosling, Pokka, TVR, Kempey, Gustaffson develop into that player but none have and Campbell is not that player anymore either. At the same time they are so tight against the cap this year and next that I don't want them dumping every young asset they have to get a rent a defender (Even if they could squeeze one in) as they need cheap, controlled young assets to fill this roster until the Canadian Dollar recovers (Unlikely anytime soon) or some of the contracts that are a bit odious come off the books in 3-4 years.

Knows the system, should be good for 4th d minutes in game.. Low risk..

Surprise, surprise, RFDC and I aren't on the same page.

Oduya is very Rosival to me. He was hurt, turned it over, wasn't big on contact. His shifts were always kind of chaotic or something. I hope you guys are right. CH has me laughing.

Oduya is a couple years older than he was when he left us but good god he is no comparison to Old Man Rozsival. This is a good move.

For gods sakes, CH is for the move, let that sink in.

This trade is a good deal for the Hawks. They give up a Rockford lifer & a very low pick for a known commodity at a position of need. Team is more diverse too!!!! POC FTW JDC!!!

Sounds like Maxim Shalunov is coming over from Russia. Hope this isn't FAKE NEWS

That's going to be a crazy contract to make it work. Like incentive laden to say the least. Lines would/could be interesting. I'd like him with Hossa just because.. Hopefully this mean Desjardin goes and visits lovely Rockford or whatever.. He is like skating with a half a player out there.
