Yeah and now it's Vancouver, who has lost like, what, six games in a row? Then Dallas and Florida. Scrimmages ahoy!

To be fair, he says momentum doesn't carry over from game to game.

Game was on nhl network and saw the end. That's cool Hawks are back in WGN again. I think the last time I saw that was like 1979.

They're talking about that the towes goal was a bs call. But seems like the hawks get all the calls since they're the glamour team.

The Flames' win officially clinches the ninth consecutive playoff appearance for the Blackhawks.

The Hawks are now in the conversation for the President's Trophy. They have really been rolling.

As per the invaluable hockey-reference, John Hayden has been more valuable to the team in three games than Dennis Rasmussen has been in 60. I still need to figure out exactly what the math is being point shares, but that's certainly notable.

Not surprising at all.

"What the math is being"? I must have stopped in the middle of revising my sentence and forgotten what I was going to say. Anyway, it's all here: http://www.hockey-reference.com/about/point_shares.html

I just take their word for it that this is as good a Grand Unified Theory of player value as you're going to get. It says, for instance, that Kane, Crawford, Keith, and Panarin are head and shoulders above the rest of the team in their value this season, and that Tootoo and Desjardins make the team worse. Sounds about right.

I think we all hope that Kruger is taken in the expansion draft, and if he isn't he is traded. Does Rasmussen stay with the Hawks next year?

Rasmussen is an RFA this summer and needs to be offered $632,500 to keep his rights. I could take or leave him. If anyone's going to step up to take Kruger's role as an up-front defensive specialist (a euphemism for "black hole of offense"), it's probably going to be Kero, who also needs a qualifying offer and probably at a little more than the bare-minimum 110%.

It's going to be Kruger or van Riemsdyk who goes in the expansion draft, most likely. If the Hawks win the Stanley Cup, I think I'll be ready to part with Kruger. If not, I think I'll want to squeeze one more year out of him if possible, but who knows, the window may be such that there isn't one more year after this one. This year wasn't even supposed to be a window year.
