Anyone know about these 2 guys?

Connor Murphy is good. It's clear they are trying to get younger on D as Hammer is 30 and these guys are 22 and 24. Murphy signed through 2022 at cap hit of $3.8MM

Dauphin is still a prospect, I can't see him being much more than a 6/7 Dman at best though.

I see the one being like 6ft 3, which adding size is nice.

You know what, when a player has 3 Cups with your team, you can continue wearing that sweater with pride after he's gone.

I loved Saad when he was here. But what is the advantage of getting him in return for Panarin?

Murphy is younger and cheaper. He blocks shots and will score more than Hammer. It's strictly business Sonny.

Panarin is 1 dimensional. Saad will play with Tazer and I bet that kid in the minors plays wing with Kane.

Get rid of someone who is "too tired" to practice or play when the playoffs come. Launch another soft European (thanks Don Cherry)

Motte Forsberg and a pick swap and Panarin to CBJ for Saad "other pieces" and a goalie.

And a 2 way player. The problem we saw was 1LW, and Saad fixes that.

Correction:

Panarin, Motte and 6th rd pick for Saad, Forsberg and a 5th rd pick in 2018.

What is the word on Forsberg? Is he a capable backup for Crow?

Looking at stats, he really didn't have too much time in the NHL. I would assume he will be on the roster and not in Rockford.

Saad gives you 2 way play, makes Toews better, and kills penalties. Plus he's cheaper long term as 4 years at $6MM instead of getting a raise in 2 like Panarin.

Besides, DeBrincat probably can play with Kane on 2 LW.

The boys on 670 said something about Arizona taking on Hossa contract for a pick in the draft? Is there anything to that?

Arizona is $13MM below cap so they need to fill that. They spend $1MM on Hossa for $5.2MM on the books against the cap so it makes sense for them.

Murphy gives them a younger version of broken Hammer.

This is a good thing.

Young d-men, cap relief. Probably couldn't move Seabrook for anything of value. Bringing Saad improves the 1st line and lessens the departure of Hossa for defense.

Panarin has to be relieved going to a city with less black chicks.
