Stan Bowman proves once again what a genius he is. Love getting Brandon Saad back for Bonus Baby. CBus will be sad to find out that he only plays when a payday is on the line.

From Blues reporter Andy Strickland:
TJ Oshie being strongly considered to replace Panarin and play with Kane. May have to take less money. #Blackhawks will sell chance to win

Mad that Toews is still here.

May have to take less money....I am pretty sure he would have to take quite a pay cut

Kruger still expected to move, just on June 30th as Hawks pay a $2MM signing bonus that day.

Perhaps if they move Kruger and Hossa, they can bring in Oshie. Would be very intriguing. Played with Toews, presumably knows Kane well enough.

Just read a blurb that Q walked out of the meetings when all of these moves were hatched. Well Q, we love you but you guys done fucked up two years. Changes are coming and you might be next.

I heard he left the league coaches meeting...not a personnel meeting.

But his mustache stayed and took notes for him.

Reading Toews and Kane really pushed to get Saad back.

Hawks push the Bulls off the front page.

The Hjalmarsson trade is an absolute heartbreaker and a sure loss. Getting motherfucking Brandon Saad back for Panarin is a revelation.

Unless you were listening to sports radio between 12-1.

Brandon Saad doesn't move your soul.

Still struggling to find an upside to this terrible Hjalmarsson trade. Affordable contract for an elite defensive defenseman. Why?

That'ts it? I been waiting all day for your response and this is it?

Speaking of losing a step.

I think he's just formulating his thoughts due to the current rage feels he's got over Towes not being gone.

It's a bit of a paradox for him... if the reports that Toews led charge to bring home Saad are true....

Coyotes players, like Panthers players and Hurricanes players, suffer from Sun Belt Syndrome, where players are hysterically overrated for their contributions in low-pressure/low-exposure environments so that the viewer can know something you don't know. Jay Bouwmeester was supposed to reinvent the game of hockey until he got to Calgary and everyone realized he was just a big goober. Oliver Ekman-Larsson went through it until the book came out on him, and John Klingberg went from penthouse to doghouse in like a year. And no case was more infamous than that of Ilya Bryzgalov, who looked unstoppable in Phoenix but shit the bed so bad in Philadelphia that they had to buy him out like one or two years in. You can't trust players from those teams.

ok, but Hammer isn't an elite defenseman anymore. If we lost him two years ago, yeah, I would have been pitching a fit.

I get where you're coming from. I feel like Murphy is the exception to the rule. Team USA Captain at the worlds, good NHL pedigree. His dad was solid with Boston back in the day.

I get where you're coming from because he's a puck-blocking masochist entering his thirties, but he looked absolutely fork-stuck after the Pominville hit only to come around and be a cornerstone of another two championships. And I'll admit I'm being sentimental about a guy who's been here for 9+ seasons, but he's a guy who left money on the table to remain part of a winning organization (like any good Swede, he understands the concept of lagom), so I feel we owed it to him to keep him here as long as we're trying to be one.

Like MANY, I didn't realize Saad was younger than Breadfan. Very happy to have Saad back as this might help Toews.

Losing Hammer hurts....but I get selling high....and yes...he wasn't the same player down the stretch this last season. We will have to wait and see with Murphy, but this could potentially be a really good trade.

Oshie signs 8 years with Washington so not coming here.

If we sold so high, why did we only get an unproven second-pairing defenseman at a near-identical cap hit?

Yeah but what the fuck has WASHINGTON done to keep theirs? They're out in the early rounds every year! Oh well, I didn't want Oshie anyway.
