The ice is down and painted at the UC and the prospects just won the tourney in Traverse City. (courtesy of DeBrincat)

Time for training camp!

DeBrincat is getting reps on the 2nd line with Schmaltz and Kane. Personally I think that line is too small, but it's intriguing to look at. I'd rather see Schmaltz on LW with Kane and Anisimov with DeBrincat in the AHL.

This couldn't come soon enough, what with the dumpster fires that are the Bears and the Bulls, and possibly a Cubs early exit.

Can't wait to see if Saad can help get Johnny's mojo back.

Hard to feel happy about a guy's career being ended by a sucker-punch from one of those diarrhea-slurpers in Anaheim. Quenneville may have tried to squeeze too much from Rozsival at the end, but he gave us everything he had and you have to hand it to him for that. I hope he has a future as an assistant coach.

I assumed you meant no ill will when you hated Q playing him.

He's probably going to serve as an unofficial coach this year while being paid his $600k on LTIR. Watch him coach the D just as Mayers sort of was a coach while healthy scratched in 2013's playoffs.

Well, he was terrible last year. He was capable of a strong game every couple nights in '15 and '16. I respect that he came back from that injury in the '15 playoffs against Minnesota but the tank was empty by last year.

I'd like to see Schmaltz, Kane, Sharp. That would give you a nice 3rd line of Anisimov, Hartman, Hayden or Jurco. Give DeBrincat half a season or so in the AHL.

What do you guys think of the new face off rule? Seems to be people bitching about a lot of minor penalties so far.

I don't want Sharp anywhere near Kane. He wasn't good enough to play with Kane the last 3 years he was here, he sure as shit isn't good enough to play with him now.

Schmaltz-Anisimov-Kane

or

Debrincat-Schmaltz-Kane if that line works vs NHL size.

Sharp is a 3rd liner at best these days and has always lacked the IQ and finish to play alongside Kaner since Sharp moved to wing.

He might be a 3rd liner but he has been productive with Kane in the past.

Denis Savard and Stan Mikita were productive in the past, maybe we should sign them too?

Sharp hasn't been productive alongside Kane since 2010 when he played center. That's 8 friggen years ago. Since that time he has proven to be unproductive along side Kane as a LW and was down on line 3 before he left Chicago. He's not a top 6 guys anymore and hasn't been for several years. Might as well bring back Andrew Burnette if we're gonna try Sharp alongside Kane.

Are you intentionally trying to misrepresent what I wrote? If you are saying Sharp is a 3rd line player now because of his age, fine. I am not going to argue that. Maybe you are right.

2010? Sharp only played with Kane 15% of the time at even strength with Kane in 2009-2010. In 2010-2011 Sharp played with Kane about 50% of the time at evens. In 2012-13 Sharp had a .68 pt/game pace and his most frequent linemate that year was Kane.

Sharp's best production has come on Toews' line but to say Sharp hasn't been productive with Kane is because he doesn't have the IQ is ridiculous.
