Late arriving crowds tonight? Both to the BB&T center and to this thread.

Acceptable start, but so was Wednesday's.

Yeah, but the Panthers are more likely to stay dead. For one reason or another, the Panthers' most recent wave of stunning prospects (Huberdeau, Barkov, Ekblad) haven't been able to put it together, not unlike their last wave of stunning prospects (Weiss, Frolik, Bouwmeester).

Dominant possession period by the Hawks: 21-7 in shots on goal, 30-9 in shot attempts.

Hell of a timely goal from Kane, that McCann goal was a real deflator.

Sharp is drawing ever nearer to the land of healthy scratches.

Having Seabrook and Sharp on the ice at the same time is just begging to give up a goal.

I take it I'm missing a fine outing by the lads then?

Yeah, they're playing very well, though that's as much the Panthers being bad.

Rockford's on channel 50 against the Wolves if anyone wants to pick up the end of that game after this one wraps up. Hoping for more Hinostroza/Highmore production, the latter hat-tricked against Iowa the other day and we might want to keep an eye on him.

i cant Help but think hinistrova wouldn’t be a better choice than Sharp now. He’s been...nonexistent to awful every time I watch. I get that Vinny is undersized and is probably a liability on defense but he can’t be worse than sharp.

I don't know whether it's not having to shout over the stadium noise because he's in the studio, but Eddie O sounds much more reserved, almost feeble, as he's describing the ins and outs of a goal during the intermission.

Heard on B&G on Wednesday that he's taking the week off from chemo treatments, but that kind of regiment has got to suck the life out of you, right?

The best thing Sharp has going for him is that he's not hurt. That's about it. I would not object to having VinnyHinny or Highmore up, and sitting Sharpy every other game, if not more often.

I caught Eddie doing a game or two of studio duty last year, I think because his travel schedule with Big NBC had him get home while the Hawks were still on the road, and I remember him being pretty reserved on there, too. I'm guessing it's equal parts fatigue and being out of his element.

Nice win, even tho it was the Panther. 3-0-1 road trip, and Crow shows n signs of letting up, which is good, because Forsberg...ehhhh...

The good thing is the defensive transition that is happening. Rutta and Forsling are taking a good bulk of minutes (more than anyone other than 2 and he only has a minute more) and the bulk of the special teams minutes. This season will be a huge win if they are a fringe (in or out) wild card team and develop two young, real ass blue liners.

I disagree that the season will be a win if they "constructively" miss the playoffs. Constructively missing the playoffs is for the Hurricanes and Panthers. From a marketing standpoint, the Blackhawks have to make the playoffs every year just to keep their heads above water. If they finish 9th, they'll fall behind the on-pace-for-19-win Bulls and it'll take years to recover. On a 670-based message board of all places, you should know better than anyone that there are prominent sectors of the Chicago media that want to bury this team.

I agree about Forsling. His game is looking better and better and he's only 21 years old.
