Don't get it.

Hartman and Q clearly didn't get along and this is what happens.

I'm very done with Q.

A low first for Hartman isn't a horrible return, is it?

Thats not bad at all. Hartman was going to start costing money anyways and there is no reason to pay a guy like him when he should be easily replaced.

Not for a guy who played on the first or second line a lot of the year at the beginning and has a grand total of eight (8) goals.

This also does not hurt the potential signing of Sikura as it opens up a another spot on the roster.

I have no problem with this trade. Take the 1st round pick. The Hawks have proven to be good in the draft.

Not exceptionally. To say they've been as good as they've needed to be would be more accurate: they get guys who can round out the roster or not suck in the AHL, but we haven't drafted a star player in some time. DeBrincat might be the one.

Kinda sucks to see him go to Nashville, but maybe they'll be disappointed with him and move him at the draft.

The odds of 3oth pick playing 100 NHL game is less than 50%
The forward they got didn't make Sweden's Olympic teams

Hartman will be a consistent 15-20 goal scorer with grit. For a team that can't score, I don't get it.

I understand they are stockpiling draft picks and Q decided he was done with Hartman. A move like this suggests to me that Q isn't on the hot seat as much as I hope he is.

I think part of that has to do with the coach.

If this was a deep organizations top 10 d-man. I'd be more onboard.

They need 2-3 at least.

This is fine, he's a UFA and they can bring him back if they want.

It's a free lottery ticket OR stan is piling up picks to make a move in the draft cough dahlin cough

But look where they are drafting. Getting a star outside of the lottery is tough to do. TT, Schmaltz, Hartman, Henri Jokiharju as first rounders in the last 5 years has been very good. Add in Debrincat and Saad as 2nd rounders and I would say they have been far better than average at drafting. Sure, you have your Mark McNeil and Kevin Hayes but every team misses on picks.

They didn't really miss on Kevin Hayes. He's been pretty solid.

Definitely, but for another team from whom you got nothing in return. Half-credit.

You're right. I got my brothers mixed up.
