I am not a hockey guy, but doesn't this seem like a Band-Aid on a broken leg? Have they had roster issues for a while now? And their goalie, who was one of the best in the game, has been hurt for a year.

IDK Frank. It happens. Q was stubborn not playing young kids and he also may have simply worn out on the team. Penguins here had to do similar after not winning for a while after their first Sid Cup. Funny thing is their great new young coach now was a Hawks assistant back then.

I think the problem is both Q and Bowman. Q wants vets and is stubborn, Bowman wants younger guys and his style never meshed with Q. Really thought Q would of been kicked up stairs at the end of the season. You can not blame Q for all these bad contracts.

I think he had a tough time living up to the legacy of Ditka but he still should be viewed as a great coach.

A lot of people saying they fired the wrong guy. I think they just didn't fire enough guys. Q didn't build the roster, but he and his staff are responsible for having some of the worst special teams in the league for 3+ seasons so they deserved to go. Q had a system built around mobile blue liners, something he hasn't had for years, but he was stubborn and never adjusted.

With that said, Hockey Ops should've been cleared out as well today.
