Arguably the best two-way winger. Who do you have ahead of him there? Jere Lehtinen? pfft

Best 2 way forward of all time ahead of Hossa? Dave Keon, Henri Richard, Steve Yzerman, Brian Trottier, Bobby Clarke, Sergei Federov...... just to name a few.

All centermen.

How about amongst wingers?

Either way, you list All Time great players. Hossa is in the team photo.

Yes because a previous poster named "Curious Hair" just said "One of the best of all time." So I was originally arguing that he is definitely not one of the best of all time.

Minor Hawks news:

The team has announced two-year contract extensions for both Matthew Highmore and Kevin Lankinen, while also inking Evan Barratt and Andrei Altybarmakyan to entry-level deals.

Well not that it matters, but the NHL said today that *IF* they finish the season at limited sites, they will go right into the playoffs as the standings sit now. So either way, we are done.

Isn't it great they stayed in semi-contention for a playoff spot? Really pumped to see who the Hawks get with the 10th pick. It was clear in December that this was not a playoff team.

Had that conversation 100 times with a friend. Even if they got to playoffs it would be a short stay.

Interesting.

Mark Lazerus was on with Larry today and he said thought it was going to be Vegas and Edmonton.

Edmonton makes sense: they have the new arena, the old Northlands, and god-knows-how-many smaller rinks. And even the virus wouldn't go to fucking Edmonton.

Yeah Lazerus was saying they were making a big push because they had plenty of ice available and they wanted to show off their new arena. And there was also talk of them like setting a part things in the city for just hockey famlies...golf courses and such.

I don't see Chicago being able to match that.

The thing about Edmonton is that it is very spread out. It's a city of a million and change spread out over like one-fourth the size of Rhode Island. May as well, they have room to spare. So I can see where it would be very easy to keep everyone from crossing paths.

I don't care where they hold it. Chicago doesn't deserve shit though so I am totally fine with that being a ridiculous rumor. Hawks are in with the new format if they use it. I like it. Top 4 in the conference get byes and the rest play 5 game series!!

NHL votes on their plan today. If they do the 24 playoff scenario with the top 12 from each conference, the Blackhawks are the last team in for the WC and the Habs for the EC.

I'll bet anything they chose 24 as they needed the Hawks and Habs in.

Looks like the Hawks would play Edmonton. I would love to hear all the Oiler fans cry if they lose.

I'm guessing they would re-seed after the 1st round which means the Hawks would then have to get smoked by the Blues

This team can beat Edmonton, they can't beat the Blues

I agree about Edmonton. I wouldn't put it past the Hawks to put a scare in the Blues. I expect Crow to outplay Binnington and a rested Keith and de Haan really help out the defense. Crazier things have happened.

Scott Powers had a good piece out regarding the status of injured Hawks.

De Haan and Boqvist would both be back and 100% when play resumes while Seabrook would still be out.

Call me crazy, but with the structure proposed, the Hawks could at least beat the Oilers with a half decent defensive corp assembled out of this assuming Crow can catch one last bit of lightning.

Oh, sure. Best of three, there's no telling what can happen. Kane can will the team through, we could see Hot Goalies all around the tournament, it'd be nuts. The asterisk whoever wins this will have to carry will make the ones on the 48-game seasons look like specks of dust, but hey, I guess it might be better than nothing?

Mitchell can play a few games though I can't imagine them letting him do a show and go for the playoffs......at least I thought he could. Shaw should be recovered if recovery is even possible for him at this point. If not he is LTIR for life I guess. Why won't seabs be ready?

Seabrook and Shaw are effectively retired.
