I am sure there is some pressure from above to play him. Crawford is in the final year of his contract and becomes a free agent next year. Thank goodness. This Crawford downfall fiasco will be off of our plates next year.

He and lehner have combined to have one of the leagues best save percentages. crawford hate continues to be misguided

Agreed. Crawford hate is ridiculous. Before the concussions, he was a top quarter in the league goalie who continually bailed out a team that gave up a high number of shots. Now that his play has gone down a level due to injury and age people are going bash him? Ridiculous. While Lehner has obviously outplayed him, Crawford has been fine this year.

I think the Crawford hate is more so, he should not be the starter. They are gonna fuck up re-signing Lehner by not giving him the majority of the starts.

Tonight's game in particular is a fucking embarrassment. They better be talking to Babcock.

Fuck no! I take it you haven’t been paying attention to all the info that has come out on Babcock since his firing? Players HATE him. And the more you hear about him, he just comes across as a stubborn, domineering asshole. Besides, are you aware that his style is more similar to what Colliton was doing at the beginning of the season compared to the more offensive-style they are playing now? Toronto sure does look better after Keefe made some logical changes. Barrie looks like the player he was in Colorado. Looking forward to Marner coming back.

I mean, Babcock's coaching in Detroit had people making all the same complaints people made of Quenneville with the Hawks: they're cycling too much and not shooting enough, he's too loyal to veterans (Dan Cleary ahoy!), he's not etching the lines in stone. I think the only differences were they cashed more power plays and ran more interference. But they still rode all those complaints to a lot of wins.

I'm sure NONE of that was made up by MLSE's information ministers or anything.

Besides, the revelation that Babcock called Mitch Marner lazy was quickly dwarfed by the revelation that Bill Peters called Akim Aliu the hard-r n-word and physically assaulted his players.

Only an idiot would rather stick with Coliton and giving up 5-8 goals a game

You can't have a 2002 draft pick who's already set for the Hall of Fame taking orders from a 2003 draft pick who barely cracked the league. I know plenty of great coaches never had real playing careers, Babcock and Cooper among them, but I feel like on some level this stuff does matter.

Maybe they’ll fire Marc Crawford too after their “investigation.”

After hearing Marc Crawford kicked Sean Avery in the ass, I'm now a fan of Crawford as head coach. That is worthy of being given a Jack Adams Trophy. Otherwise, perhaps they should have him kick Colliton's ass so long as they are too chicken shit to fire boy wonder.

Avery's on my All-Asswipe Team for sure. Granted, he's a fourth-line energy asswipe, behind scoring asswipe Corey Perry, two-way asswipe Alex Burrows, and checking asswipe Shane Doan, but he makes the team.

Incidentally, hockey fans never get to criticize NBA players again or talk about how these guys are the toughest tough guys who ever toughed, ever since Babcock got launched all these dudes have done is talk about their feelings and their need for a safe space. It's all the same. Of course, real fans knew Canadians' balls evaporate when they find out they have to play for a Canadian team and -- gasp! -- be recognized in public, but now it's all laid bare.

All of these men turned into little toddlers once Don Cherry was fired. He was turning the good Canadian boys into men.

I read on Blackhawk's feed yesterday that Chelios had a story on the same hockey site the Crawford news was on. He said years ago Babcock was horrible and mentally destroyed Franzen on the Wings when he started having CTE like stuff.

Can Boylen coach hockey? I want to see Toews bring his lunch pail and clock in for practice.

Predators fire Peter Laviolette. Kick the tires? Awating the "fuck no Coliton rules" response from the peanut gallery.

He'd get you through the rest of this year and next before everyone in the dressing room wants to kill him.

What’s the point? This is a lost season. Until they get some blue chip prospects this will be a middling team. They need top 5 picks not 10-11 which is where they are headed.

And where are all those “Let’s hire Backcock because I’ve heard he’s a good coach” fans? Since you haven’t been paying attention I’ll let you know that Toronto has been playing some of the best hockey in the league since Babcock was fired. It really proves how awful of a job he was doing this season and how the young players quit on him.
