We really might have gone from the best coach in the league to the worst.

Q is not the best coach in the league. He is a good coach and will win when he gets talent. When he gets several HOF players in their prime and a loaded roster, he'll win Cups just like a number of other coaches in the league.

I've seen enough to say he's one of the very best. Who do you think is the best?

It is very similar around the league. Keep some stars, hire the young coach (Pens have ex Hawks coach that was their minor league coach) and wait for the kids.

I would take Barry Trotz or John Tortorella over Quenneville. I love what I have seen with Travis Green, John Cooper, and Sheldon Keefe. Mike Sullivan winning 2 Cups with a ragtag blueline was impressive as hell. Like I said, Q is a good coach but a number of NHL coaches would have won 3 Cups with the Hawks if they were at the helm.

Tortorella over Quenneville? that whiny baby? Pfft. Trotz is doing good work with the Islanders and Capitals now, but on general principle he shouldn't be commended for the years of lowest-common-denominator hockey he put out in Nashville.
