They had the chance to get John Forslund when the Hurricanes inexplicably refused to renew his contract. They could have done a year of transition with Foley. But no.

Forslund and Tracy were overrated because people just liked to be like "ACKSHUALLY, the BEST broadcasters are in Raleigh, where no one watches the games but me, so I know something you don't know." Same with Ralph Strangis and Daryl Reaugh in Dallas. They were fine, but people talked about them like they were demi-gods. Reaugh in particular is just a louder, dumber Ed Olczyk.

Tracy isn't very good, which was proven after Forslund left. I listened to Forslund on radio (they did simulcasts) and he was as good as Wiedeman.

They used to have a dedicated radio guy, Chuck Kaiton, but they fired him to cut costs.

How that team has become the darling of the internet crowd is amazing.

The current administration has done a good job assembling within the cap structure and remaining competitive without the Bowman-esque stupid contracts. Most years, one or two well liked players either gets shipped off or leaves in free agency. Brind'amour is a stable coach, and there are enough transplants to keep PNC well attended. And you and your neighbor who went to different ACC schools can still agree on the Hurricanes.

Why do you have this underlying contempt for them? They are a top third team and the market isn't a shithole like Florida or Phoenix or God forbid a third go at Atlanta.
