I enjoy watching the Avs, I haven't had the time to watch these last few games, so I'm looking forward to tonight's tilt, hopefully their young speed wont give the hawks too many problems on a b2b.

Hawks can't take this one to a shootout, where the Avs are 7-0 and the Hawks merely 4-3. In games that end in regulation or overtime, the Hawks are 20-13. The Avs? 15-19. Like Billy Beane's A's (or, to stay in hockey, the 2010 Coyotes), their shit won't work in the playoffs. And that's too bad, because the adorable little ragamuffins on this team have already mastered the art of treating every mundane November goal like they've just won the Stanley Cup.

Goals scored: Avs scoring is 23rd in the league with 2.512 per, Hawks 5th at 3.200
Goals allowed: Avs 17th at 2.829, Hawks 16th with a virtually identical 2.825

Last five don't favor us at all at all at all:
Avs: 2-1 SOW @ Kings, 4-2 W @ Ducks, 3-2 W vs. Coyotes, 4-1 L v. Jets, 4-2 W @ Wild, 8/10 points earned, 3/10 points given
Hawks: 5-4 L @ Flyers, 4-3 L v. Oilers, 3-2 W v. Wings, 2-0 L v. Kings, 4-1 W v. BJs, 4/10 points earned, 6/10 points given

welp go get 'em I guess

I forgot that assface Matt Duchene is out. Their enthusiasm should be significantly curbed, actually.

*scores tip-in on power play to cut lead to 1*
*drops gloves and flies into arms of own goaltender like he saw Kaner do*
*is playing the Dallas Stars in October*

The Avs are like the Oilers in that they can be pushed around pretty easily. Unfortunately, the Hawks can't take advantage of this. Hayes and Bickell need to remember that they're bottom-sixers and stop being such gentle giants. You'll have your scoring chances, but don't be such pushovers in the meantime.

Union vetoed the realignment. There's going to be a lockout next season. This one could finish the league off for good, at least the league as we know it. I'd say we had a good run, but...

They fucking wrecked the Flamers... it brought a tear of joy to my heart... not that it should be that hard to defeat the Iginla +none Flames, but seeing a 9-0 score while the 3rd is still going on is lovely to see.

Edit: I meant to quote BadR17 :?
Whatevs... :drunken:

they said Stalberg was not effective, or ineffective as it were, last night... HA! SURPRISE SURPRISE! superstar my white ass...

That's five shutouts against the Hawks. This team is revealing itself as poorly constructed.

Hjalmarsson-Leddy a combined -7 tonight, Leddy on ice for all four goals against.

Bowman can get rid of Hammer whenever he wants. I fucking hate him. The goalie situation is very troubling and may be the undoing of this team's playoff chances.
