I plagiarized and took on loan for the thread title.

Going for #7. Sharks won in the shootout last night, so they're also 6-0, but 5-0 in regulation/overtime wins, so the Hawks remain in first. I think Minnesota went to the shootout three out of four times with us last year (the Kane goal in December, then a back-to-back late in the season), so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again. Also, despite their dual twin splashes over the summer, the Wild are looking like a pretty average team: 3 wins and 3 losses, one point over .500, 16 goals scored, 17 against.

Crawford for us, the MS-stricken Josh Harding for them, who always plays us hard and really would've looked nice in an Indian Head. Minnesota is on their second of a back-to-back and third game in four days; Hawks are finally on two days' rest.

Brandon Saad still due for that big game. Let's put these guys in the cemetry.

If they want a winning road trip, this game squarely falls in the must win column.

Ice show trip killed the Hawks last year. Busted them down from President's Trophy contention to sixth in the West. If we can come away with seven points of a possible twelve, we have to be happy with that. After this trip, 25% of the season is over, and 22 out of 36 games will be at home. Banking four road wins to start the year gives us a cushion, too. So win this one, Calgary, and Nashville, manage a point somewhere from Vancouver, SJ, and Phoenix, and it's an adequate trip.

That Phoenix game is going to be interesting. I believe public enemy numero uno is back. It would be nice to have two road wins against Phoenix. Hopefully the first wasn't a fluke and the Hawks can neutralize Torres.

Mike Smith is out and LaBarbera is bad, but in grand Coyotes fashion they got a shutout out of a 26-year-old failed prospect.

The NHL schedulemakers did the Hawks a favor with this unavoidable road trip.
The Hawks catch the Wild, Sharks and Predators on the 2nd part of a back-to-back and 3rd in 4th days. While Hawks catch the Flames as their 2nd part back-to-back and 3rd in 4th. Calgary has "tip your cap" to Kipper written all over it. At least the back-to-back won't allow Kaner to catch the Roxy flu.

If you're looking for this game on TV, it's on NBC Sports Network, now DIRECTV 220 and NOWHERE ELSE. You won't find it on Comcast SportsNet. You won't find it on WGN's CW9 either. NBCSN is featuring the game as part of its "Wednesday Night Rivalry" series, even though it's not exactly the rivalry that the Blackhawks & former North Stars used to be back in the day.

Not tonight. It's true national TV for this Blackhawks/Wild game. NBC Sports Network is to the NHL what TNT is to the NBA on Thursday nights.

I wonder if I can manage six straight Smiths songs for this trip.

Next Wild game I'd go with "Heatly is Murder."

What are the chances the Hawks and the Sharks are both undefeated going into their match up? I'd love for that to happen.

I would lol if Shaw finally got his goal on the year and it's washed out because Sharp had a flukey goal. Come on, spread the wealth!

That's exactly what you want from Shaw, though, finally. Right around the net, hacking away.

And Toews! Yeah! Any assist for Saad?

aaaand knocked Harding out of the game. Backstrom played last night. Eat him up.

Hawks are flyin, it's night and day compared to the Detroit game. Rough start for the Hammer/Oduya pairing though.

Good goalie change by Minnesota. Harding looks lost even on his saves so get him out now before you're down 3.

All I heard all day long was how Minnesota was gonna ugly this game up and it's gonna be really hard to watch. Granted that I don't entirely understand what I'm watching, but that doesn't appear to be the case at all so far.

Minnesota doesn't really rely on the left wing lock as hard as they used to. They're still a defensively responsible team, but they have more firepower now than they did.
