Skimming the box score and two things I got a kick out of. Brookbank played a John Scott-ian 2:31 and Shaw went 0 for 6 at the faceoff dot. Woof.

Morin I think would be 1st choice.

I thought I read that Hayes was injured. Could be wrong, but for some reason I remember reading that recently.

I know Ben Smith broke his hand in a fight like the day before the NHL season started. Dumb. I believe Hayes might be hurt as well, but he had been having a surprisingly good season at center for Rockford. Let's check!

He seems to have played in their last few games, and has 19 goals and 15 assists in 55 games, tied for the lead in goals with Morin and (cough cough) Martin St. Pierre (hope that doesn't devalue things too much cough cough). So there you go.

I must've been thinking of Smith. I knew someone had surgery and was out for the year, but thought it was a Hayes.

I'm sure Ben Smith will be with the team after roster expansion--we still do have roster expansion, right?--and likely slot in on the fourth line next year after Frolik is made to leave.
