If the streak is gonna end, better it be in a blow out.

This team was tired as hell. Had they not had the streak as motivation, they probably would have lost at least 3 of their last 10 games prior to this one, at least.

Just got a call trying to sell me a limited edition plaque celebrating the Blackhawks consecutive points streak. I bought two!

Not if the coach keeps on making dumb decisions and the goalie keeps on letting in easy goals.

Had a cup of coffee with Chicago about 6-7 years ago.

I know nothing about him at all. Is this a good trade?

SHARKside Dan

Handzus is decent enough...he's a guy.

I'd use an NBA equivalent for you cats, but I can't actually name more than about 3 guys in the NBA.

Not really. Good for faceoffs and shootouts, but not much else. It's not a move I would have made, since he can't replace Bolland at #2 center and can thus only bump down Shaw and/or Kruger. Winning faceoffs is important for a possession offense, but...man, I dunno, not feeling this one.

Handzus was on the 06-07 Hawks for about two weeks before blowing out an ACL. We got him for one of the Arnason-Bell-Calder guys.

It's a bad sign when a team in playoff contention with an absolute shit farm system doesn't mind unloading a center.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. A 4th round pick isn't that much to give up on but I really wanted a #2 C and Handzus isn't that. He is better than Kruger and Bolland at the dot, so that's a plus. I'm not quite sure at this point of his career what else he does better than them. I'm also really weary of teams in playoff hunts that give up players for mid to late round draft picks. Lets see what Coach Q's plan is with him.

If I'm not mistaken, the Hawks now have no draft picks in the second, third (Oduya), and fourth (Handzus) rounds this summer. You have to hope that Frolik can fetch a third or fourth, because as great as the 2011 draft was for the Hawks, you still can't afford to punt a whole draft.

Especially in a year where the draft is considered to be the deepest in a long time.

The reason I like the Handzus is simply one thing....he can win a key faceoff late in games. He's hitting a 55% clip. He's not a true #2 at all.

Last night I was ALL IN for the first 2 periods. Then they gave up the lead AND Kane missed his shootout shot

the fuck is that shit?

Hopefully whoever this guy is we got can replace Kane, who sucks.

Reading lots of rumors about Mike Ribeiro. Call me intrigued on that.
