You know who I thought would turn out to be a decent fourth-line body and never did? Jake Dowell. Is he even in the league anymore? I haven't seen his name come up on any Dallas boxscores recently -- not that I read a great deal of Dallas boxscores.

I don't think he's been in the league for a couple years. he's no Craig Adams.

hopefully he provides that value on the 4th line the rest of the way, or at least when Sharp comes back.

Not his fault he's being miscast. He'll provide streaky depth scoring Hawks against opponent's 4th line plugs. Can't complain too much when he sucks.

Craig Adams being forgettably waived and then sticking around with the Pittsburgh Penguins for three and a half years is one of the more baffling departures we've had from this team. Who ever would have guessed, right?

Took a glance at BehindtheNet to see Bickell's numbers and Stalberg stuck out like a sore thumb. He is going to get paid this off-season
for being sheltered by Q and an incredible run of good luck.

Stalberg currently has 61% offensive zone start %, negative Corse QoC, and team's 2nd highest shooting %.

Edit: Stalberg is currently sporting a 1058 PDO (!) which is insane for a guy who couldn't finished past 2 years. Yowza.

Good game, great goaltending, nice arena, huge hawk fan showing. Kaner's so goal looked sick as hell from the upper deck. Can't wait to see the highlight. Hayes looked pretty good I thought.

Yeah, that was stupid and accomplished nothing, and if the refs held Toews to the standards to which they hold meathead fourth-liners, it would've been a 2-2-5-10 for instigating, instigating with a visor, fighting, and misconduct.

He needs more time to jell with Kane. He was behind the play a lot, and quite obviously slipped and fell on his ass a few times. I'm willing to attribute that to catching up to NHL game pace and first-game-back jitters, respectively, before I start calling for Morin to slip into Sharp's spot instead. Pretty similar scoring paces in the AHL this year, the other guy is a left wing, not sayin' just sayin'

Missed the game last night but Hayes is a bad skater so it's no surprise to me that he couldn't keep up with Kane.

I know Morin is no great skater himself, but I don't see Hayes surpassing Big-Bodied Third-Line Winger Who Gets Garbage Goals. That's still a respectable ceiling--Bickell hasn't even reached it yet--but he's not a top-sixer. Kane is hamstrung enough as it is with Bolland failing to win so many draws. Let's get through the rest of this road trip and then see if Morin can keep up.
