Considering I have nothing better to do during the day, I'm considering heading down.

That's your parade.

:eye:

(I have no idea what parade, if any, is on Sunday)

Went 3 years ago and it was pretty much the worst experience of my life.

It goes right past my office.

I won't be there.

You should have just watched it on TV.

It's going from the UC to Grant Park? That's not a parade, that's a march. Somebody had better be protesting school closings in that crowd.

My friend almost talked me into it but luckily I talked him into just having some people over for a cookout instead. Just bbq and drink beer all day and watch it on tv. No fuckin way do I want to get stuck in the middle of that many people.

In my 10 years of being on Metra trains let me say without hyperbole that I've never seen the trains as crowded as they were during the last Blackhawks parade. Nothing else has been even close. So depending on how far down the line you live you may not be able to board as last time they had several trains unable to make scheduled stops because they couldn't fit more people on board .

I'm sure they've thought of it. I remember the carnage getting off at the Palatine stop back when I lived there in 2010. I think I'm far enough north now that getting on shouldn't be an issue. Getting home may be interesting. I do have the alternative of taking the Purple line from Wilmette over to the Red Line and getting downtown that way, too.

The Blackhawks do have the fattest fans.

Relative worked (and still works) in a building along the route .... sixth floor or something .... asked if I wanted to come down to the office and watch .... couldn't have thrown my phone out the window fast enough rather than say 'yes' .... there's this thing called TV .... I hear they even have high-definition ones .... in bars even .... seems like that might be a better usage of time, money, effort, and bathroom potentials .... not KS bathroom potentials, regular people potentials.

I'm possibly going, because my daughter wants to go, but I'm still trying to talk her out of it.

Bribe her.

Just that picture alone that Douchebag posted makes me uncomfortable.

Good call. That'll probably be a ghost town.

I knew a few people that went in 2010. The whole bathroom situation was a big problem. It will probably be better this year because it's in Grant Park, and I'm sure it will be filled with Port-A-Potties, but holding it in the middle of downtown made that day one of the biggest clusterfucks I have ever seen, except for maybe the first Obama Grant Park rally.

Don't mind massive crowds or anything. But I don't think I'd actually get to see or hear anything for all the effort required. Tiny brings up good point with bathroom situation. Pass.

Going to OAR at night and given the make up of their fanbase I'm guessing it'll be an extension of the parade...

I didn't know OAR was a skinhead band

I have absolutely no desire to go to this event. No thanks. 2 of my 3 kids are going though.

That spray you attendees feel on your head will be me urinating out a window from above. I'll eat asparagus tonight to give you fair warning.

2010 was oppressively hot and just insanely crowded. Once was enough for me.

I go days without being around people, so I'm going to take one day and be around a million of them. I missed 2010; can't miss both.

Glad I stayed home and watched on tv. Besides I'm still hungover from last night.
