And why not? It's easily one of my least favorite teams, and one of my least favorite coaches, the Lenin looking, named for diarrhea Barry Trotz. This dude has coached Nashville for every one of it's 16 years and hasn't ever once won a division and lost in the first round of 5 of 7 playoff appearances. Very cute.
The Predators are 8-9-2, 7th in Central Division, and just moments ago managed to finish losing to Pissburgh (spelling mistake... oopsie doopsie!)
As usual in the bottom 3rd of the league for scoring at 25th with 2.1 GPG and they allow a full goal more per game than they score at 3.1 which explains their craptacular record so far this season. The very talented Pekka Rinne is still on crutches and isn't expected to play for quite a while now. This is the perfect game to give Crawford a well needed game off, allowing human sieve Nikolai Khabibulin his first start since getting pulled against the Sens TWO FUCKING WEEKS AGO. Yeah.
For comparisons sake, the Hawks are 3rd in league scoring with 3.3, and 13th with goals allowed with 2.7
They do sport a more potent than average power play and combined with the Hawks troubles on the kill that will result in some danger when you consider that Hockey Stupid has rejoined the Hawks in time for this game and old and awful will be minding the twine.
Long story short, if the Hawks press hard and keep their time in the sin bin to a min they should have a great shot at winning this game, but let yourself get frustrated at a pressing defense and a hard shooting Weber coupled with a shitfuck backup goalie for Chicago could turn into some trouble.
Folks this game is a 7pm start at the Bridgestone Arena, so get your beers ready, throw something on the grill and prepare for some bad goaltending and the return of STEEGER!

I shall watch, but I'll turn it off in disgust if they start trailing to this awful team. This team is a mess. Stalberg has been a healthy scratch for ol' no-neck because he couldn't or wouldn't play "Predators hockey." Man, fuck this team and their neverending go-for-the-bronze mentality. I'm so glad Seth Jones is wasted on a crappy team where the mediocre coach and general manager will never be fired.

It's hard to muster up any give a fuck for Predators games, especially with Rinne out, who is one of my favorite goalies.

This game has some things going for it though.

- The return of Versteeg
- Hawks on 4 game win streak
- See if Khabibulin can not suck
