DID NOT HAPPEN.

And by the way, my daughter's ACT score came in high enough that I think UW Madison is going to happen. Her and my wife have been having lots of fun pretending she might actually go to UIUC.

Congrats?!?

There's an article in the Trib today about Illini football. Lovie says he's optimistic, but the situation with the offense is work in progress, to put it nicely.

They have lots of questions at quarterback and will be running a no huddle spread offense under a new OC, Rod Smith from Arizona. They only have one sophomore QB on the roster, with the rest being freshman. Jeff George Jr. is transferring to Michigan (thank goodness) and Crouch is done with football.

You would think Lovie has learned his lesson by now that he needs not any QB, but a good QB. I don't know if this recruit, Isaiah Williams, is the answer.

That was a poor team that Lovie Smith fielded last night at Memorial Stadium. There's not one quarterback that can play.

Maybe the reason is that Lovie Smith doesn't recruit white kids. They're all black, with a number of them being suspended. Illinois has become Grambling State.

The best thing that could happen to the Illini program is Lovie Smith gets fired and they bring in a new coach that can recruit from Illinois.

It's sad what this once competitive program has become. I sat in those stands when they were last good with Jeff George. Such a great stadium for college football that's being wasted on bad teams.

Illinois will not win one Big Ten game this year.

Last good with Jeff George? They had better teams after that.

78% of the team are Freshman and Sophomores. Highest % in the NCAA.

They're on the team for next year.

App State has second highest. They would crush Illinois by 80.

Illini got screwed before the half.

Program is making progress, though. Have some guys that can make some plays.

Corbin should get the ball more.

Lovie showing some emotion today. Guess he has to since he is running the D now. Can’t be a statue the whole time.

Although it is very nostalgic to see the gang-pile of defenders carry a guy an extra 5 yards trying strip out a fumble.

For where? Purdue?

Phillips senior three-star ranked wide receiver recruit Fabian McCray (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) decided to reopen his recruitment on Sunday.
McCray, who had been verbally committed to the University of Illinois since early July, discussed his decision.
"I just felt like I need to look at all of my options," McCray said. "Illinois is still one of my top schools but I also want to be honest and open. This is the best decision for me right now."
McCray has been in contact with a handful of schools.
"I've been in contact with the coaches from West Virginia, Syracuse and also Cal a little bit. Before I committed to Illinois I had a lot of interest from Iowa State, Minnesota and Purdue."
Could Illinois re-enter the picture for McCray?
"Illinois is still in the picture for me and they are still one of my top schools."

Wondering if Lovie will give him the time if day in the event he wants to "re-commit." There is one kid who did this, name escapes me, and when he wanted to re-commit Lovie stiff armed him. Only difference may be that this kid is a WR, where they lack any depth, and they have a 5* QB coming in.
