Whenever I tuned in lots of running calls 3rd and long and big TD runs called back on penalties.

Why does everyone sound so faggy when talking about kids playing sports?

My nephew closed out his career at MC with back to back championships. He battled through injuries the past couple of years so I'm happy he was on the field for the final gun. Congrats to all you MC alums. I saw they received a police escort back to the school once they got in the city. CPD saw it as a recruiting opportunity.

One complaint, I guess it was sportsmen of them to cheer Loyola onto the field for their game but also kind of a cuck move. Opt into 8A, where you should be competitively, and be a bitter rival instead of being satisfied beating up on Batavia.

Is Lincoln Way East overrated or is Loyola that far ahead of the field. They don't like that talented of a team even in losing but a great LA defense will do that

Anyway, Pat Fitzgerald gets his championship and will probably clear a cool $50-100 million from NU in 2024. I assume he'll stick with LA for his son's senior year and then get a job, maybe even where his son ends up playing.

They play LA every year, and beat them last year.

They are already playing two levels above their school size. And LA has 50% more students to choose from too.

School size doesn't matter when you can recruit.

So you also don't understand math, or statistics too Bob?

Because if both schools recruit, (and they do), then the school with more students would have more higher level players to choose from.

Would they be able to compete for state championships every year in 8A, irrespective of any other considerations?

of course they would

which is why the ccl puts them in the same conference division as loyola

Why the hell did Mt. Carmel line up to cheer for fucking Loyola prior to their state title game? What a bunch of pussies.

I remember when Wheaton Central did that after they beat Mt. Carmel in 5A to welcome Naperville North onto the field. NN beat Loyola for the 6A crown. RIP DVC.

I was just reading up on some of the proposed schedules in the catholic league next year and there are rough times ahead for my wolfpack. CCL blue, on its own, is going to be brutal with Loyola, MC and Brother Rice. Then I saw possibly St. Rita. They could play well and still go 0-4 in that group, which means they have to win the other 5 games just to be above .500...and that will be the same scenario year after year.

Nazareth had a brutal schedule this year, started 0-4, finished 4-5, and coasted to the 5A title.

I played on teams that regularly competed against Loyola when I was in high school. Their students and supporters were noxious louts back then, and the school's reputation has only gotten worse in the ensuing years. It seems odd--to say the least--that any of Loyola's conference rivals would cheer that school on.

I don't disagree. But I still found myself hoping they would win against LWE.

There is definitely a camaraderie of sorts amongst old Chicago Catholic League football players. When I played, it was regarded as one of, if not the top conference for high school football in the country.

Bill Murray went to Loyola, that's enough reason to hate the Loyboys.
