I hope none of the other long-time coaches wanted the head job.....because they deserved it if they did.

Out of all the people I have ever known fairly well, I can't think of anyone who has accomplished more. No exaggeration.

he was a teacher for about 25 years, then moved full-time into administration (AD and some other duties). loved the guy as a teacher. still the AD if he stays.

Lots of people leave the school bitter because they think they're going to be Michigan's next running back and they either don't get the chance, they find that others are better, or they can't handle MC's non-honors curriculum (which pretty much means they can't read or won't listen to teachers when they tell them to be quiet).

The best answer is that it's probably not the right environment in which every kid can succeed, and there's definitely a racial element to that. Not sure if any place is the right fit for every kid, though.

"how can anyone tell me my finances"

Well, you disclose them to the financial aid decision makers.

and two years later, we have not heard of the great Foster Williams in the college game

It's saddest that money and playing time in prep athletics make this a story.

The IHSA is equal to the NCAA in my book.
