I am glad to read that they are sensibly going with the work product of their in house team and not spending six figures on a waste from "consultants". Or wasting more time trying to appease "Chief" supporters(?) |

I liked the Chief Illiniwek logo as well. I'm a graphics guy and was disappointed seeing him 86'd. From USA Today back in the day... Chief Illiniwek, the former University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign mascot, was banned by the NCAA in 2007 for being “hostile and abusive” ... The same thing happened down here at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby. The IVCC Apaches are now the IVCC Eagles. |

Since this is the Land of Lincoln,they should Change the School name to: The Illinois Guard The mascot can be the outline of a Union Soldier holding a football. Beats a stupid letter. |

WTF?! That's like the one cool thing about Illini games. I was watching some forgettable Western from the 50s or 60s a while back and they dubbed (what I guess is called) the War Chant each time the Injuns crept up to harass the settlers. |
