Loved Go, Go. He was my favorite player on the team as a grade school kid. It seemed like he never turned the ball over and always made the correct pass.

Phillips' very own iirc.

From a great time in CPS basketball. When it seemed as if there were big guys all over, yet 6'2" Joe Stiffend dominated the paint.

My guy on those old Georgetown teams was the bald headed, Damon from Cooley High looking Michael Graham.

He had federal penitentiary written all over him

That motherfucker was tough as nails. Then he disappeared. He may have ended up in prison.

I think he did. Shortly after his GT career ended he got locked up if I remember right.

Didn't Hughes lead the NCAA in scoring that year? He was awesome.

I think Loyola will start off next year as a top 25 team and have the benefit of the doubt they haven't received this year.

There is literally zero chance Loyola starts the season in the top 25. they may get there eventually if they go on some ridiculous undefeated run, but no chance they start the year there.

sure

since we are who we are, there is room in between will and zero chance. Let's just make it is or is not in the pre season top 25. Who's top 25 is our barometer?

AP Poll seems to be most respected.

Loser had to "wear" avatar of winner's choice till 12/31/18?

What should avatars be? We could do a Loyola Depaul type thing? Or is that not really a punishment since I think neither one of us has negative feelings about either school. Any suggestions?

There's no famous rabbis.

I can do the pope thing and I think GD isn't much of a Hawks fan so maybe a smiling Patrick Kane headshot?

I'd suggest Meir Kahane or Maimonides.

I went to the announcement party yesterday because I haven't been to one in the past for any team and I thought it might be fun. It was ok. I probably won't do it again.

The first 11-6 matchup posted on TV was Kentucky (or was that 12-5). You could see the players jump with anticipation when Kentucky was announced but the matchup went to a different school and they were all laughing about it.

I don't know that much about Miami but they seem like a good, nondescript team. They are both beatable and could very easily beat the Ramblers. At least Dallas is a truly neutral site and other team's fans will certainly be cheering for the underdog.

I don't think they got the best 11 seed out there as either.

This will remind me of when eastern Illinois got into the tourney and was summarily dispatched by Indiana in like 3 minutes.

Iowa State cast-off Clayton Custer seems to be their heart and soul. They should check out Terrance Long who just announced he was transferring in light of the influx of talent coming next year. Former 4 star prospect, Oklahoma POTY. Still would have 2+ years of eligibility left.

Phillips' very own iirc.

From a great time in CPS basketball. When it seemed as if there were big guys all over, yet 6'2" Joe Stiffend dominated the paint.

I loved Joe Stiffend, in part because he looked like he was 24 years old as a junior. The man could play.

Glorious.

I have no hope they will beat Tennessee. I'm pretty satisfied with a first round victory and two wins against top 25 caliber opponents this year.

Simeon delivered twice yesterday. Zach Norvel hit the winning shot for Gonzaga.

Vanilla Custer!

It's been a fun run for this team. They certainly don't seemed awed by the competition. They had Tennessee down late in the game and just couldn't put them away but in no way were they lucky to beat them (despite a lucky shot at the end).

The first Loyola game of the tournament was ridiculous. The guy was maybe 7 to 10 feet behind the 3-point line. In hindsight had he not made the shot he might have looked bad shooting it from so deep.

That was a favorable bounce in that second game. Loyola was fortunate too because Tennessee's final shot almost went in.
