Of the 16 teams in the playoffs, only four are Catholic schools. So much for the "Catholic Football is Superior" narrative. They wouldn't even have these 4 teams if they weren't allowed to buy players with scholarships.

If that were true, I believe we would know about it.

What schools specifically of the four remaining in the playoffs do you know for a fact did this with their current players?

For the record, are you denying Catholic High Schools recruit athletes?

I don't know if it is true or not. It didn't happen at my high school and we won 4 state titles and had one runner up in the 80s.

Your certain not a single player got a "tuition break" based on their football ability?

Yes.

I think if you are a stud athlete and are deciding between Mt. Carmel, St. Rita, Brother Rice, or Marist, you're probably going to go where your friends are going.

And their friends get a little extra as well. Group discounts have been the norm for awhile now. Especially in baseball.

Are you suggesting public schools don't recruit athletes?

No. You do have the concept of "busing" outside of district lines, however that isn't germane to this discussion.

Richmond-Burton has a powerhouse football program, never would have guessed. Wonder how much area that school district covers.

Spring Grove, Richmond. It's a large area, but it is quite rural. Lot's of bean & corn fields.

HF and Naperville Central are the public transfer destinations around here.

There are very few top level players paying full tuition at schools like Rice, Rita, MC, Laurence etc. Now they also get kids who think they are going or free and end up coming to us once the tuition bill comes due in July or August before freshmen year  . Not surprisingly those kids are never difference makers.

Oh, definitely, I drove through Richmond more times than I can count (but never again). I just figured they must bump into Hebron and their basketball water tower to the west and Johnsburg to the east and therefore could barely even field a team.

Hebron can't seem to pass a referendum, wouldn't be surprised if they were absorbed by Woodstock Schools. On a side note Alden-Hebron has been a proponent of 8 Man Football for the state.

Hebron is actually the closest high school to my dear old alma mater over on the other side of the line. We never played them in anything, but we'd usually play Antioch in basketball early in the year. Not sure how that worked. Driving all the way into Woodstock for school would be a real pain in the ass, but you can't legally or ethically send them to Badger.

Some weird fucks in Hebron.

My commute to Marian Central was 16 miles one way.

Did you go to Badger CH? What year did you graduate?

MC-Naz should be a good game.

Willowbrook had one player and stayed with them for 3 quarters plus.

I've heard that the QB at Naz is the real deal. It could be a blow out for Naz.

NOPE!

Naz offense did not handle the weather well at all. Complete beat down.

Especially after that pick 6.

But then it was an ass kicking.
