What good coaching candidate would want to coach at most of the area schools--UIC, NIU, DePaul, Loyola, Bradley, etc? None of them have much appeal. I used to love watching DePaul play in my youth, but they're not going to be anything until they get a real AD and smarter administrators.

UIC hasn't been good since the 03-04 season. 5 CPS studs would need to commit at the same time for there to be any hope for this program.

They always made their living on finding talent that fell through the cracks. It's there every year. They just got bad at identifying it.

If it can be found at Northern Iowa and now consistently at Butler or Wichita State, but not at UIC, I'd suggest shutting down the entire athletic department. Find a mega church in the making and sell them the Pavillion.

Or maybe just go the (real)big winner style & only play Sir/Club level/intramural games.
