Knights are 2-1 after a huge comeback win vs Rich Central. Apparently Mike Alstott's cousin or nephew is the RB for the Knights. He is a freshman starting on Varsity and damn near scored all their points. That is mind blowing. They NEVER let freshman play Varsity. He is NFL lineage though.....awesome.

Conflicting information here. I know the west suburbanites among us are mildly excited about the Glenbard West--St. Francis girls state volleyball championship game tonight.

Cary Grove looks to be closing the door on the Batavia season. Batavia is usually good for some heroics though so I am not counting them out.

Is he the head coach?

Is he the head coach?

No. My bad... I reread my post and should have worded it more clearly. He's the DB Coach.

Halftime - IC Catholic Prep leads Princeton 21-12.

My cousin's son plays for Montini (I think as a backup), but he's not playing because his brother was seriously injured in a car crash at college at Halloween weekend so he's down there instead.

If Montini wins this year, he's going to be very bittersweet about it.

Halftime - IC Catholic Prep leads Princeton 21-12.

Late in 4th IC leads 37-12.

IC kicker Sam Buffo (sp?) hits a 41 yard FG... pretty good for a prep.

Edit update: IC Catholic wins 37-12 final score.

That certainly sucks. He won't have to worry about missing them win it all as they do every single year anyways.

I still can find no reason why there can not be 6 public school divisions and 2 private school divisions. Some of these powerhouse teams that recruit really make it almost unfair.

The funny thing is that he's the last kid, if you looked at him, who you'd think would be playing front 7 on defense for a team that can recruit like Montini. He's fucking tiny as hell, maybe 5'5", but he'll kick you in the balls if you're not paying attention. I'd like to see him as a gunner on special teams, but that would imply that Montini ever has to punt.

In talking with friends who went to St. Joe, they're annoyed that their buddies' kids are going to Montini. Seems like staying away from black people is a big unspoken benefit.

I think the solution is one big fucking open division as THE STATE CHAMPION (and make 8A play in it). You want to be the best, play in the open division. Schools like Montini and Sacred Heart-Griffin would have to play in that division as a matter of pride, so everybody the hell else could run their classes.

I've actually been to the last two Marist playoff games. My girl's brother plays on the team. They've played two of the weirdest games I have ever seen in person. Last week was a 59-56 shootout with the Marist quarterback accounting for like 6 touchdowns and 500 yards of offense. It was video game shit. Last night they got out to a huge lead at halftime, 38-7, and then held on for dear life at the end to win 38-35. Talk in the stands is that even if they beat Waubonsie Valley next week Loyola will destroy them in the 8A title game. My father is a St. Laurence alum and he's been following their playoff run and now he wants me to go with him next week to see them play Nazareth

Quite the run they're on. Most of the coaching staff is from my class and the year after me

Didn't make the Saturday night game on 115th this week. Had no innerest sitting outside for high school football, pussy be damned. I thought Loyola was some unstoppable behemoth but their last two games have been close. Still, that Marist defense...eh.
