This was a fun Friday night. I got home and was getting bitched at so I thought I was shut out from going. I didn't have anyone who would go with me. I had left messages with my best friend during the week but hadn't talked to him. He ended up calling me at 7, said it was a bitch of a week but he wanted to go and to meet him in an hour. We had a small group of friends there but I always find other random old friends at this thing. Good food and drink. I was standing with my friend when two girls walked up and fixed his collar for him. They started up a conversation. He's a bachelor so I played good wing man for him. It's an unusual occurrence but is always kind of flattering to know you still got it. I took off around 10:15 as I had things to do the next day. I felt kind of like Frank the Tank explaining how I had to leave at an early hour to a group of single people on a Friday night. |

Maifest and Oktoberfest in Lincoln Square are arguably the best festival this city has. So many fathers with a stein full of Hofbrau rocking baby bjorns. Great beer and good brats. |

Excellent event. The cooler fall temps on Friday night kept the Stroller Mafia and Chads/Beckys away. Plenty of room in the main tent to pop and squat and shoot the shit with friends. Knocked down ein und halb Maß and ein Wurst with polka playing on the main stage. Partook in Oktoberfest favorites "Take Me Home, Country Roads" (The Krauts absolutely love this song) and "Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit" With Do Division grabbing the attention of the hip yutes, Maifest continues to be the lesser known gem tucked up in the Northside. |

I wouldn't say it is the lesser known. Oktoberfest was so popular they had to reduce they hours and made a second one in June. |
