Yeah, but I think they've got a few hurdles to get past. I saw Thomas Peterffy just came out against them, saying he feared they would put smaller brokerage firms out of business.

A friend gave me one as a gift when it was at $100 or so. I sold it several years back when it was around $1000. Looks like I should have held onto it.

Neo-Nazis Bet Big on Bitcoin (And Lost)
How the far-right's failed cryptocurrency gamble became a bad joke for the Christchurch killer.

Quote:
“Bitcoin provides these neo-Nazi terror groups—and they are terror groups—the ability to raise and spend money in a way that’s hard to disrupt,” Bambenek told Foreign Policy. “But it also provides an intelligence analyst like me unfettered ability to surveil them, because they surrender all their privacy rights by using it—because bitcoin’s ledger is public.”

Great!

I am not a fan of the U.S. Dollar and other fiat currencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. U.S. Dollars can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity....

I assume he still has to pay income taxes on the full amount. Otherwise, it's really a meaningless gesture vs just getting paid USD and converting it to BTC himself, right?
