Did you force him to sell it and buy a minivan?

No he bought a "better" car.
I had to convince myself I was buying a "better" car too. :(

I see a lot of you have good stories about the Grand Prix. :D

The new "wide track" body style came out when I was a senior in HS, and I fell in love with it.

BRick I had an 04 for a weekend as a rental while my Trail Blazer was in the shop. It was a base model, but I was amazed at how fast it was. I was doing 90 on the I-90 and didn't realize it. I think it only took me a little over an hour to get from Rockford to the S.Side of Chicago.

My mother, for some odd reason, likes the late 90's model Chevy Luminas. She's had at least 4 of them, if not more.

I did a few drives down to Carbondale with it. The drive still sucked, but it sucked less because of that car.

I see tons of guys going for this, but thats the kind of car you are keeping in storage and only driving in nice weather, so I am going top down on whatever I would buy.

My mother in law loved them too.

She gave us her 1997 last year when she decided to quit driving.

A few years ago, my cousin bought a 1987 Grand National. I got this pic from Google, so I can't confirm if it's '87 (it says it is, but who knows), but you get the idea. Very powerful car.

Not lame at all. I loved my Grand Prix. You can probably buy mine at an auction somewhere in New York for a few thousand dollars!

My husband had a 1999 or 2000. If you had one too it's most definitely lame.

When I first started dating my wife I was driving a Cadillac CTS. She told me she almost didn't go out with me the second time because she thought it was a Grand Prix.

Saw one of these for sale a couple of months ago on the road I take to my golf course. Too bad it
appeared to be in pretty rough shape. Someone must have bought it though because it was gone
within two weeks. GMC Typhoon. Capable of 0-60 in just over 5 seconds.

Can't tell if that is a real SG or not but a new one will set you back 1100. So the autographs not a big deal?

I understand the car guys love the engines and the power, but where are going with that and what are you doing? Racing from light to light?

Like I said before, going top down way before the 400HP+ engine.

Love the auction scene, going into winter, still glad i didnt pull the trigger.

Yeah, if they are original they appear to be worth alot. The American Picker guys shit their pants whenever
they find these in decent condition and I have seen good old Rick from Pawn Stars call in the expert to look at a few over the years and they go for good money all restored. $7500 is crazy obviously.

All the picker crap went for good money. dont think a sign went for less than $1000!

You guys are killing me- my first vehicle I bought as I turned 16 was a '72 Toyota FJ40 this same exact color- my uncle had picked it up in Hawaii and had it shipped to me when he retired.

I sold that back to him years later to fund my second "car from my youth I want back now", a '70 Chevelle SS 396 in maroon metallic with black stripes.

Wish I knew then, nah, time heals all wounds and rust spots.
