Used to be a huge fan and have seen him many times. If I never heard Jack and Diane again, I'd be very much OK with that.

I'd be perfectly happy if he played nothing but songs relating to farming. Jack and Diane is ok to me. It certainly isn't near the top

I understand the philosophy of "playing the hits" in concert, but I would go and see him hoping he would play more than a couple new songs. I was still buying his stuff well into the 2000s pretty much up to the album that had the song he sold to Chevy (This is Our Country). That song sucks, the rest of the album was terrible, and so were the subsequent releases.

The last one I really enjoyed was Trouble No More from 2003. That was a bunch of cover songs but it was pretty good.

I saw him at Farm Aid in 1998. I thought he was lame. He played guitar on only a few songs. He was mostly dancing while smoking cigarettes.

Do you have Rough Harvest? It's acoustic versions of his own songs. Very enjoyable. Some different takes.

I have seen him a couple of times and enjoyed the performances, granted it was 10 years ago or more.

No but I have heard cuts from it. I like what I have heard

I saw him in Paris in 1992. I wouldn't have thought his work was translatable to not only an urban but a foreign experience but those frogs really loved him. I think they had their own issues with the minimalization of the farmer.

I never understood the love for this guy. Seem like an American Bryan Adams.

A most excellent tune.

Never was a big fan, but I learned to detest him after living in Indy for 3 years. The love for his band was over the top, especially from the IU grads who felt some special connection. Weirdos.

Great call. Love that album. Sometimes a Great Notion is a fave, along with the title track.

I was late to the party on him. It was the release of Lonesome Jubilee in 1987 that made me a fan. I'll always fondly remember driving from NIU down to U of I in the fall of '87. That album was the soundtrack for the trip, and any time I hear a tune from it, I think back to that trip. Always puts a smile on my face. Love the power music possesses.

Don't do this.

You're my dawg and all, but this is where Curious Hair is on the mark. People have strong opinions and visceral reactions to music. No one is telling you what to like.
