Beef-A-Roo is the correct answer, of course.

But if you don't to go "there", then Steak n Shake is very good. Although some of SnS's more unique flavors are underwhelming. The standards are fantastic.

I'll throw Red Robin into the mix as well though technically not fast food. Really good shake.

Negative. Don't like stouts, porters, etc.

Chus, I've recently acquired some chocolate stouts and the like. I will give them to you next time I see you. Let's make that happen.

Never had it, but always thought about it -- opinions on Portillo's Chocolate Cake Shake??

I collected some world class stouts for my stepbrother who's in Afghanistan serving for the Navy. Those are staying put, Chus.

I cant believe I didn't mention this but the best one is the Chocolate shake with chocolate ice cream from Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts

When done right, it's thick chocolatey perfection

It took three pages for IMU to show up and post about Smashburger? But where's the part about distinguishing between "fast food" and "fast casual"?

Fast casual is such a stupid term. If I have to go to a counter to order, and get my food within 5-10 minutes, it's fast food. It might be higher quality, but it's still the same genre.

Can't believe it took 3 pages for someone to mention the obvious winner, Potbelly.

Sonic is the next best IMO.

Steak n Shake is overrated, not a fan.

Portillos' chocolate cake shake is a good idea in principle that you regret about half way through. Way too rich.

But, if we are talking shakes we gotta mention the best of the best even if its not a fast food place.....

Margie's Candies. If this place was good enough for a round of post concert milkshakes for the Beatles its sure as hell good enough for you! Great shakes, my wife always gets a chocolate malt...I"m not a malt guy, but after trying that one I just might be now.

Baskin Robbins does a good job too, but not in the same class as Margies.

Culvers is a name for a different thread as they are the runaway winners in the best blizzard category.

With Baskin Robbins, I think its the chocolate ice cream. Their chocolate just tastes better.
