Tried it yesterday. Not bad. Texture took a little to get used to. Flavor was good .About the only bad thing for me was the sodium 16% per pattie. The 20 gram of protein was good though and it not being soy based was good. Pricey though at $6 for 2 patties.

If that's the one they sell at White Castle, it makes swearing off meat easier. $2 for a slider and tasted like meh. Which is I guess good for White Castleb, but I haven't thought about going back in two months. So there's that.

Agreed. If I want a burger, I'll order a burger. If I want veggies, I'll order a salad.

Impossible Foods just struck a deal with Burger King. As a result of this, they are unable to provide enough product for independent restaurants (who essentially created the buzz to have Burger King come a-calling) until they can ramp up production. I personally think this is all artificial scarcity and free publicity. My place is now carrying the Beyond Burger. Of the two, I prefer the Beyond burger.

Given how little meat I actually eat now and given the passage of time (& hopefully improvements), I may have to give it another try.

Frankly I'm leaning more and more towards a mostly vegan diet. And any beef will have to be of higher quality. Factory farming is becoming worse and worse imho. Beyond repulsive even.

If you want to know how bad this is for you, try to give some to your dog. They want nothing to do with this highly processed mystery "meat".

Trusting what a dog eats isn't much difference in what a goat or rodent would eat.

Or a pig.

Fake chicken is gross and I don't think large amounts of soy are good for you either.

Most dogs are fairly smart about what shit food is and isn't. This stuff isn't good for you. You're better off eating real meat.

On chicken we agree wholeheartedly. But stupid Americans still believe that all chicken is good for you, despite how it was prepared. So there isn't the same profit
(&) motivation as with fake beef.

Dunno I've seen dogs eat food that has almost made me vomit and the little meat in it may has well been scraped off of the killing floor.

Switch to Coke Zero. I've never been a pop/soda guy, but I'm a huge fan of Coke Zero.

Living in Atlanta gave me the biggest habit I've never been able to kick. There have been times I've stopped at McDonald's just for a Coca-Cola. The strong stuff. And I tried Coke Zero and couldn't stomach the taste.

i like the veggie burgers because factory farming is gross and all, but i don't see how they are any healthier when you look at the ingredients.

i like coke zero; but last week i was at mcdonald's for the first time in about a year and had to have a coke even though it was like 10 in the morning. the stuff is literally like a drug. i had a coke zero later on in the day and it was like drinking a non-alcoholic beer.

That's a perfectly apt comparison.
