Was in a rush at lunch and grabbed a BK King XL and ate it at my desk. I guess this is the Burger King version of the Big Mac. Definitely a
larger sandwich but it really didn't have much taste. Whatever the sauce they use on it is nowhere near as good as the McDonalds version.
One burger with two patties really filled me up but just didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. Should have stopped for a Baconator instead.

I'm down another couple of pounds. When you eat a big burger, no fries or soda, and nothing else all day it isn't too bad.

Chicken chili. Kinda surprised, but I did put the works on it.

No. But an antacid or two would be nice.

Beef and cheddar and mozzarella sticks...I love their curley fries, but I had to get back to work, and those things get nasty really fast once they get cold. The mozz sticks held up a bit better.

Little Au Cheval. $20 for a burger, fries, and a shake. Eaten while standing.

You're at Small Cheval or Au Cheval? It's a pretty good burger though, either way. What's $20 to you?

I had the Yummy a couple years ago. It was pretty good, but I was a little turned off by the use of the microwave in the preparation.

I read that they actually have a different burger at the two locations. The really famous one from Au Cheval is not available at Small Cheval, at least that's what I've read over the years.

Also, the highly rated burger, the one that Bon Appetit called the best in the USA, I read that the patty is just a run of the mill pre-formed Sysco patty.

Small Cheval is the name of the place I guess. I saw them pull raw burgers out of the back on a pan. they definitely looked like they were shaped by hand and not frozen. though they probably have machines now that make them look that way.

The fries were bad IMO. Those came out of a big food service bag. I think they hide the fact you can get ketchup if you ask for it. either that or somebody smuggled some in from outside.

The shake was damn good though. you could get a whiskey shot in it for $3 which, lemme tell yah, I was damn tempted.

I think it is a Sysco burger, but it's not frozen. They are using the same one across the board, I don't think they want to fuck up the Au Cheval brand. I don't know what they use for fries.

My next burger is going to be called the Eaglo Jeff, and it's going to be a bowl of soup.

It works for them. They probably wouldn't pass any sort of code if they wanted to install a salamander in there. Maybe a toaster oven would work.

What do you think of the burger at Bad Apple? It used to be my favorite before I moved, but that might be because I never dined at Bad Apple without getting drunk.

Incidentally, they used to make a hell of a deep fried cheese curd there.

Bad Apple is great, I don't have a bad thing to say about them. They source their meat very diligently. However, they don't grind in house, whereas we do. It was just sold recently, btw. The new guy said he wasn't going to change anything, and might expand.
