One guy who got laid off a while back (not fired) apparently drank every day. Shots every couple of hours I guess.

This girl we work with joked with him about doing shots at work one day.

I'd wager that the people against drinking on the job are in industries where its not acceptable.

I dont think Frank should be driving a forklift around his warehouse after a couple of lunch beers.

If you are in sales, it's almost your responsibility to drink.

I still don't understand what you are getting at. There are reasons why minors shouldn't be drinking at home(or anywhere) that aren't there for most workers.

I never understood the allure of drinking while at work. If you can't wait until happy hour before cracking a cold one, I'm wondering if there are other issues at play. Since, you know, HR might have an issue with drinking on work time.

There's no debate about the dangers of underage drinking. I'm just wondering why adults who drink on the job -- a fireable offense in most companies -- don't hold themselves to the same strict standard as they would their children.

Just because of this thread, I'm breaking out the tequilla.

I doubt most companies would or could do something to you if you had a beer at lunch unless you operate heavy machinery. I don't see many employment contracts stating you need to stay at 0.0 at all times.
Because it is really bad for children to drink? I wouldn't want my 13 year old having sex either even though I am.
