Greek diners are the best. Jedi's in Griffith was always my go to but Top Notch in Highland wasn't too shabby either. Fuck Purple Steer, I hate that place. Haha

  Spot on.

They just closed the Greek coffee shop by my house, Whistler's. It wasn't owned by Greeks though. It was Assyrian. A friend of mine asked me if I ever went to Whistler's. I said, "Yeah, all the time." He said, "You know the Assyrians no longer have a country, so now they all gather at Whistler's."

They now all gather outside the Dunkin Donuts at Pulaski and Devon. I've never seen so many 20 somethings hanging out in a parking lot at night

I miss the Lincoln too. Those gigantic soft drinks were great. I think one of my Greek friends is an investor in Butterfield's. At least the one on Dundee Road.

The thing that pisses me off about the Lincoln is that it still sits there, undeveloped and unused

That would be Market Square in Wheeling.

We order lunch from here a couple of time a week.

I wouldn't say it sucks, but I will never understand why people wait to eat there. It's just a place.

Fun fact: That building used to be a Wag's in the 80's.

Douchey doesn't know what he is talking about.

Great baked omelettes. And yes, it was once a Wag's.

I don't know what I am talking about? You don't even know the name of the fucking restaurant!

AH!!! This was the little old lady who ran Peep's, my favorite hot dog stand (which wasn't even a *stand,* it was an actual building, what is wrong with you people, it was clearly a fast-casual dining opportunity) as a kid. A gravelly "what'll it be, honey" to every customer. It's called the "Prospect Heights Grill" now. Won't go.

Peeps was great for hangovers

That was a post racetrack spot during the Maywood Park meets back in the day. That and a place I'm sure jimmy remembers- the Paddlewheel.

leash were maybe thinking of Kappy's as the diner off rt 53? It's in the building across from Fox & Hound that's now a walk-in clinic.

Used to go there with my family for dinner's occasionally. Don't think it was Greek.

Town Club in Highland for old school place. Relish tray and old wood paneled walls. Good food too.

The Niles Grill(Family Diner) by Golf Mill on Milwaukee has become a go to spot for morning meetings in the area.

An old Eastern Euro guy cooking, his hot niece and her friend are the only waitresses. I think it's in an old I-Hop.

May as well be Greek.

The Full Moon, on 41 just north of Lake Bluff is about as Greek as you can get.

-Open 24 hours
-Beat down waitresses, either big assed or scrawny...all smokers. Very likely have had to perform certain special duties for the management.

We built a house for the owner of Full Moon back in the day. He paid for the whole thing with boxes of cash as I recall. I swear the guy was almost never at home. He was at that restaurant 24/7.

I'm going to check out the Niles Family Grill.

Our son just transferred to a school three blocks from there.

Was Omega in Downers Grove considered a Greek Diner? I mean, the name is literally a greek letter but it served "American food".

Anyways, I vote for that even though I don't think it is old school dining but I guess we are talking about Greek diners.

I think we were originally talking about old school dinner clubs, but I hijacked the thread and ruined it.

That's definitely a Greek diner, by the way. I didn't have to look further than the broiled chops steak w/ eggs or the broiled calf's liver served ala carte.

Omega might be the definitive Greek diner but you have to drive past the superior Juicy-O on Finley to get to it. They give you a free dish of homemade donut holes there. Right next to where Flip Side records used to be.

The Juicy-O on Washington in Naperville is better than the one on Finley, IMO.

Juicy-O is terrible. And it's a mundane chain. When your calling card is free donut holes, you should go sponsor a Sox stadium or something.

That's the place. Definitely a Greek diner. Another one we used to go to after the races was Phoenix on Lawrence and Cumberland. It's gone now too.

Is that place any good? I've driven past it a million times going to Lucky Magee's. Right across the street from the stale bread outlet store. It's definitely an old IHOP building.

I'm guessing that's the same Omega as the one on Golf Road in Niles. Definitely a Greek coffee shop.
