Mine turned out very good, and I didn't even have to go to the store since we already had chicken. Very simple, too, which is good because I'm a shitty cook.

Take a few chicken breasts and season them with whatever... I used salt, pepper, and paprika (and a little lemon juice).

Throw them in the crock pot for 4-5 hours on high.

An hour or two in, mix a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of cream of celery soup and a little bit of white wine. Throw that in on top of the chicken and then sprinkle some good parmesan cheese on top.

Let it sit for another few hours and then eat.

I also cut up some potatoes and threw them in with an hour or two left.

Easy as hell and pretty damn good.

I find Cameron Hughes Lot 489 perfect for Crock-Pot cooking.

That sounds good, Boyd. Im gonna have to try that soon.

Pot roast was great. Last time made it, came out a little dry. Today was perfectly moist.

You guys have any tips (yes you do but not that one) or secrets? Do you brown or sear stuff or preheat it before putting it in? Whenever I make meals in a crock pot it tastes boiled or something. Other people make great stuff but mine doesn't seem right. I have a cheap one, is that the problem?

Searing meat prior to throwing it in the slow cooker is always going to add more flavor that you can't make otherwise...just depends on what you are going for.

Is the cord long enough to make it to an outlet? If you're not plugging it in it won't work right.

If you want to make fun of me you can do it under your regular screen name like Brick and Douchebag do. Either that or step it up a notch. Right now, you're just an unfunny twat.

For real? I figured that would lessen flavor, but I don't know what I'm talking about.

It seals in the flavor/juices.

Browning is all about flavor. The Maillard reaction is your friend.

The searing in flavor and juices part is a myth. The act of browning food is going to actually dry out the meat more. The trick is to do high enough heat where you can quickly achieve the desired level of browning and then switch over to the slower cooking method that will cook the meat through while retaining more moisture.
