I was embarrassed to even say she used it, and more embarrassed to say I always liked Open Pit. It worked well in the crock pot. We always have Sweet Baby Rays and often others as well. My wife may be right that you might get too sweet if you use Sweet Baby Rays, but we'll probably try that one next with pork.

Looking forward to my leftover chicken at lunch.

I like Ray's, but I definitely agree that it could be too sweet along with the pineapple.

I don't really "like" Open Pit, but as I said every time I have used it in the crockpot the dish comes out tasting very good.

I've started ignoring any bottled bbq sauce that has high fructose corn syrup in it. To me it is a sign of low quality being masked by one ingredient that isn't good for you.

You should try the one that has the guy who looks like Charles Grodin on the bottle.

It's also like freakin' ketchup. Give me some good vinegar BBQ sauce.

It's the first ingredient in most, if not all, Sweet Baby Ray's.

We always have Sweet Baby Ray's in the house especially since Sam's started selling two packs of large bottles. That said, I almost never pass up a bottle of something at a summer rib fest or other gathering that has small batch guys.

I've been buying the Stubbs Spicy brand lately and it is pretty good. Glad to see this thread as Slow Cooker season is open in our house starting in December.
I'll be getting it out this weekend.

I agree. I recommend Rufus Teague Made Some Sauce. The sweet honey one is really good for store bought and no corn syrup.

For real? I figured that would lessen flavor, but I don't know what I'm talking about.

Oh my. Sounds like Leash's Secret Santa needs to bring him some Cook's Illustrated or America's Test Kitchen cookbooks for Christmas.

Awesome tonight and will make solid leftovers for lunch tomorrow. My wife used chicken breasts. The pineapple is a nice touch. The chicken was perfectly juicy and tender. Great call Ed.

Awesome. Good to hear. What brand of BBQ sauce did you use?

How many ounces of pineapple Ed?

How many ounces can Pineapple Ed produce?

Depends how many ounces of pineapple juice Ed drinks.

Tried this over the summer and yes, it was very good. Suprisingly hot.

Pulled the trigger and got one of these babies arriving tomorrow.

Was thinking about starting off with a turkey chili on Sunday since its supposed to be bitter cold.

Anyone got a good recipe for chili in the slow cooker. I already have some hershey kisses in a candy dish so I'm good on that front.

dude, you get married, you get some odd gifts, usually of the re-gift variety. One thing we got was a really fancy re-gifted Baccarat candy dish. Also have a Tiffany glass ice bucket for some reason.

Really any chili recipe works. The beauty of the slow cooker is the time it gives the flavors to come together.

Don't believe so. $30 at Target but looks to be of great quality. I have a cast iron skillet. Using it tonight to cook some steaks!
