I'm having a pre parade open house. Donuts, bagels, parfaits and some alcoholic morning drinks. Keep it light. Then there is a community picnic after the parade where I will eat several free hot dogs.

I don't have any plans for tomorrow afternoon and evening. Frank's lament on that with the holiday being midweek. I have a couple of invitations for today but I'm working and people seem to be starting mid day

So grilling steaks & corn tonight, massive breakfast tomorrow, then to the parents house. After that it'll be time spent with the youngest before heading off to JC football camp in Iowa next week.

i was going to do ribs but then my wife informed me of the possible invasion of “neighborhood” children and their parents. Hamburgers it is.

I'm going to a cousin's house today. I'm not expecting much, standard Costco burgers/hot dogs/Ruffles/onion dip day, and some of that green whipped cream jello stuff which looks horrible but tastes good on a 90 degree day.

Yesterday I was off, so I took my dad out to Ream's in Elburn for a ride to chill with him, and bought a couple of dozen beef sticks of various kinds, but also picked up a 12 oz. ribeye. I ended up pan-frying it last night with a tbsp of olive oil. Not the best butcher steak I've ever had, but the absolute perfect size for me for dinner if I've had a light lunch.
