I have steaks also if any human would like one. Steaks don't seem like a July 4 food to me, but hey - whatever floats your boat.

This holiday for me is a nice burgers and quality frankfurter holiday.

I usually don't have a burger, a brat, and a steak but it is 4th of July. And I need the energy if I'm gonna start blowin' crap up. It's what the founding fathers would want.

Burgers, brats, hot dogs with these grilled potatoes that my wife makes and some corn tonight for a little get together at my house.

Probably chicken, Italian sausage, burgers, and hot dogs tomorrow at my aunt's house (where I'll cook, too).

And a lot of fucking beer.

Yep!

Actually, cooking has become a real hobby for me over the past year. I'm not as shitty as I used to be.

That's a good thing. Now wait until you make something your daughter loves, and she picks that day to decide she doesn't like it any more...it's a great feeling...

I'm having a pre parade open house. Donuts, bagels, parfaits and some alcoholic morning drinks. Keep it light. Then there is a community picnic after the parade where I will eat several free hot dogs.

I don't have any plans for tomorrow afternoon and evening. Frank's lament on that with the holiday being midweek. I have a couple of invitations for today but I'm working and people seem to be starting mid day

4th of July Ribs

Get a slab.

Warm up the Weber.

Put ribs in a large mixing bowl with some dry rub and just a shot of water for liquidation.

Mix

Drop a Hersey's kiss into the bowl

Cook to perfection.

Meat. Breathing (barely)... Something with a pulse! Gotta have it fresh the way the founding fathers wanted it.

Don't know why people love to post their menus, does anyone else really give a fuck? Do you think your are special because you have some elaborate food recipe? I mean you aren't splitting the atom here.

Well obviously...not only does it add a layer of flavor, but it helps tenderize the ribs...

It's hard to maintain the fire and passion. Plus the Sox suck.

Had to grind a little harder today and two things I had possibly scheduled for the rest of the week were moved to Monday Tuesday. So grilling steaks & corn tonight, massive breakfast tomorrow, then to the parents house. After that it'll be time spent with the youngest before heading off to JC football camp in Iowa next week.

Nothing is more American than a well-done USDA certified prime steak smothered in ketchup... believe me.

Because of this post I changed my mind. It's Asian noodles until I can master the art of chopsticks

I'm going to a cousin's house today. I'm not expecting much, standard Costco burgers/hot dogs/Ruffles/onion dip day, and some of that green whipped cream jello stuff which looks horrible but tastes good on a 90 degree day.

Yesterday I was off, so I took my dad out to Ream's in Elburn for a ride to chill with him, and bought a couple of dozen beef sticks of various kinds, but also picked up a 12 oz. ribeye. I ended up pan-frying it last night with a tbsp of olive oil. Not the best butcher steak I've ever had, but the absolute perfect size for me for dinner if I've had a light lunch.
