Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

Appears they are franchising and attempting to build a regional Rust Belt footprint. A few in Indiana, Ohio and a couple in Michigan along with the MANY in Pittsburgh area. I went this weekend to one in Michigan out of curiousity as I've never been to Pittsburgh and do not foresee a visit anytime soon.

I ordered a standard capicola sandwich. The sandwich comes with a thicker white bread, tomatoes, vinegar cole slaw, provolone, capicola and fries in the middle of the sandwich. Awful awful awful. The bland fries dominate the sandwich. They weren't seasoned and they jacked up the height of the sandwich. A dirty move to make the sandwich appear larger than it was. A couple slices of lunch meat that I'd expect from a stingy Subway.

What the hell is Pittsburgh thinking?!?!? This place is Skyline Chili tier of regional trash foods.

They love fries on sandwiches in that part of the country. My buddy in Cleveland took me to a place that did it. Just put the fries on the side, and make a better sandwich.

Yeah that's it. The locations that are company owned even here are hit or miss. As Chris said I get the fries on the side and it's fine. The pizza (if you pretend you're it from Chicago) and wings are good there. I can't imagine they will have much control as they grow.

I went when I was in Pittsburgh. I wouldn't go as far as saying it sucked but it wasn't anything worth waiting in line for.

I don't mind fries on the sandwich. It wouldn't be how I order it but it's an acceptable local custom.

Been to Pittsburgh twice in the last couple of months, and was tempted to try Primanti Bros each time, but by looking at the menu online, I backed out each time I was thinking about it. Just didn't seem as appealing as their vignettes on Food Network/Travel Channel/whatever made them appear to be.

agreed.

Fat Sandwich does this in Champaign. I hated it.

Another gripe with this Primanti's place is cole slaw is standard on each sandwich with the fries. The cole slaw sitting on the fries obviously turns them soggy. Plus the simple fact that cole slaw shouldn't be on every offering. Sure, pastrami, corned beef or even turkey but not every single one. If you were to remove the slaw and fries to the side then you're left with maybe 3 slices of meat, tomato and the bread.

A very weak sandwich.

Cole slaw shouldn't be on any offering. All of it is awful
