Sure. It's a slightly douchey thing to say but not as bad as Za.

I don't use that term when referring to a pizza, but I will accept it.

If you say "Za," your balls need to be cut off unless your wife already owns them.

East Coast bullshit. Call a pizza a "pie" and you might as well start saying "gabagool," "the gravy," and "AYYY I'M WALKIN HERE"

I say "Za' all the time but only because I know it's annoying so it makes me laugh.

It is one of the things I loathe here, I mean other than their pathetic excuse for pizza.

I remember one time Senor had a guest from Brooklyn on (I think it was Susannah "Tremendous Amounts of Sex" Collins) and called pizza a pie to impress her.

Too much NYC influence here when it comes to pizza. I wasn't asked what is my favorite pizza place here and my response was Digornio. That should tell you something.

Unless you're doing a bit and being like "mamma mia, that's-a such-a nice-a pizza pie," why would you call it a pie?

Pop and Soda are neck and neck, and both of those terms only refer to one type of food.

A pizza is a pizza.

A pie is a dessert.

And "Coke."

"Coke" for all soft drinks is just a Deep South thing. Everyone else is soda or pop (or soda pop!).

I'm trying to imagine a situation where I would call a pizza a pie and not sound weird.

Coke gets a lot of play in the Midwest, too, though. It did in our house, but (and I'll never find them now; it was during grad school) I've seen some isolglosses for "Coke" vs. "pop" in the Midwest.

I noticed (after I quit drinking pop) that people seem more likely to say "Coke" at restaurants, though.

Well, I know when I can't see which sodas the restaurant has, I just order a Coke. (And when they ask "is Pepsi okay?", sigh and affirm.) I'd rather order Dr. Pepper every time, I just freeze up, I guess.

KRAMER (in a chef's hat and apron): See, anybody can do this. <Tosses pizza dough into the air.>

POPPIE: Use your wrist! It's all in the wrist. <Kramer tosses the dough way up there.> Not too high!

KRAMER (puts the dough on the counter): Alright, put a little sauce on here... <speaks some unintelligible words in an Italian accent while spreading the sauce around.> Some cheese...

POPPIE: Not too much!

KRAMER: And...cucumbers! <Grabs a large handful and puts them on the pizza.>

POPPIE: Wait a second...what is that?

KRAMER: It's cucumbers.

POPPIE: No, no. You can't put cucumbers on a pizza.

KRAMER: Well, why not? I like cucumbers.

POPPIE: That's not a pizza. It'll taste terrible.

KRAMER: But that's the idea, you make your own pie.

POPPIE: Yes, but we cannot give the people the right to choose any topping they want! Now on this issue there can be no debate!

KRAMER: What gives you the right to tell me how I would make my pie?

POPPIE: Because it's a pizza!

KRAMER: It's not a pizza until it comes out of the oven!

POPPIE: It's a pizza the moment you put your fists in the dough!

KRAMER: No, it isn't!

POPPIE: Yes, it is!
