Did anyone ever get that venison sandwich when it was available?

Arby's has a French dip. It's good

Totally agreed.

A few months ago, I got it twice in a week (we were traveling), and the second time, I ended up throwing up like ten times. I couldn't think about a beef n cheddar for a week.

Today I think is a good day to try this Chicken Pepperoni Parm and Cinnamon Apple Streusel dessert.

It is a rare trip to Arby's where I walk away with chicken of any sort, but to be honest their chicken sandwiches are pretty good. The chicken breast never seems dried out or overcooked like a lot of places. I can't get a version of a roast beef sandwich EVERY time...

Haven't had one in years but I used to like their chicken cordon bleu.

This guy gets it

My roommate at UofI worked at Arby's. Got free stuff to bring home every night. Probably half-eaten but I was in college, so....still half-good.

After about 2 weeks he asked for a Saturday off to go to a football game - didn't quite have the seniority for that so he quit.

Totally screwed up my meal plan.

They must've hired every other guy who walked in wanting a job, because I had 2 friends that worked there freshman year. One lasted about 3 weeks. The other a full semester plus until he went on line.

I've still never enjoyed sport pepper on hot dogs, on certain corned beefs though, good eats.

The Chicken Bacon Swiss from Arby's is amazing.

But I have been having a kick for their Sliders lately. They make about 6 or 7 flavors now. I usually get a four-pack with one Beef, one Ham, one Pizza and one Buffalo Chicken.

And to the original question, it's Arby's sauce all the way.

Coming from a big hunting family, we ate venison in one form or another at least once or twice a week. It is delicious. I'm really excited to try this bad boy out.

I'd hit Jimmy John's for a Hunter's Club (wiff sprouts & hot peppers, no lettuce, no mayo) and then dip into Arby's for some Horsey sauce for it.

Apparently a common occurrence for a minute around Eminem's house in the northern Detroit burbs. I believe some sort of quasi-PETA organization proffered a solution. Don't recall what it was.

But that’s not all Arby’s is announcing.

The chain that has the meats is testing a new one at a few of their locations. Arby’s Elk Sandwich will be available on October 21 in THREE restaurants in the popular elk hunting states of Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. The very limited edition sandwich features a tender elk steak topped with a blackberry port steak sauce and crispy onions on a toasted roll.

It’ll be offered at the following Arby’s locations:

200 East 144th Ave., Thornton, Colorado 80023
2607 CY Ave., Casper, Wyoming 82604
2834 King Ave. W, Billings, Montana 59102

That was in the article I linked.

We never get any of the good stuff tested here. We have to hope it tests well in the "meat lovers" states.

But the venison tested well last year and that is why we get it, so I hope the elk will be here in 2018.

Horsey Sauce all day, so. Sometimes I'll mix some Arby's Sauce with it. Ketchup only for the curly fries.

Folks, let's break it down. Who all besides Hank and I had it?

For me, personally, it wasn't amazing. It was overcooked, and chewier than even venison should be. The sauce was fine, but it was put on very unevenly. And the onion crisp rings or whatever the hell those were just became soggy mush. Those should be put on the opposite side of the meat as the sauce.

I was disappointed. Not as bad as the pork belly sandwich was a few months ago, but I wouldn't get another one. I'm glad I hedged my bets and ordered a couple of roast beefs, in case I wasn't in love with the sandwich. And another apple crisp. That thing is crack.

I like venison. I considered stopping in there Saturday, and realized that I didn't trust Arby's to not fuck it up. So I passed.
