No salt, pepper or cumin in a recipe from a non Food Network chef. I'll pass.

I'll say it makes it taste better, you will tell me to quantify it, and round and round we would go.

Chocolate in chili is a real thing. Dark, milk, whatever.

Go home. You're done.

Yeah, don’t let them get to you Frank. You put whatever the hell you want in your chili.

This recipe is so good as it is; but of of the best things about it is, you can dress it up how ever you want!! It's a great Chili and a great Chili base to build your own! DO NOT omit the chocolate!!! You will be sorry. I serve the Chili in huge bowls (we have big appetites here) with a "kiss" in the middle in each bowl!! It's great!!

I'll trust Erin F thank you very much.

Here's a fun little recipe.

crushed tomatoes
tomato sauce
kidney beans
green pepper
onion
ground pork and beef
cherry jello
cumin
salt and pepper
chili powder
garlic
lemonade mix

I know people who put sugar in their chili to sweeten it.

You can put milk in the chili to lessen the heat or acidity.

Like I said, Frank is a winner here.

Frank can't even explain the value brought by it. A Hersey Kiss is mostly milk and sugar. Is that the goal of adding in the Hershey Kiss?

I could say add a pizza roll to the chili but I would guess that people would find it strange.

I just honestly don't get the point of adding a Hershey Kiss, and the guy who recommended it can't even say what role it plays.

To put it another way, I believe that any chili that benefits from a Hershey Kiss would benefit more by dark chocolate being added instead.

There is. Just because you say it, does not make it so.

As I said, people throw all sorts of things in their chili; http://allrecipes.com/recipe/168814/pea ... ter-chili/

Throw a reese's in there and you'd really be getting somewhere.

edit: dear god, that's a vegetarian recipe. What sick game are you playing here Frank?

Frank getting all pissy because of the board meme is hilarious. And like you said the meme is here to stay.

That pizza roll idea sounds like it could be very good.

Never understood the joke on that one. My best chili recipe includes quite a bit of chocolate, competition-level, it's tremendous.

I don't know what the fuck your brother-in-law is doing to his bourbon though.
A Hershey Kiss is not an ingredient. Dark chocolate can be.
Incorrect.

Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, peanut butter....You can easily find chili recipes that call for one of those. Same thing with beer, wine, tequila, etc. I've used them all at some point. They definitely make the chili better.

What value does the entirety of a Hershey Kiss provide?

The top 2 ingredients of a Hershey Kiss are milk and sugar.
Would you add milk to chili?

A whole kiss is overkill, imo.

One chocolate chip is perfect.

Where did we land on banana bread being an ingredient in chili?
