Why doesn't McDonalds sell a one size serving meatloaf served on top of a hashbrown and then smothered either in a tomato based sauce or beef based sauce? That sounds like a winner to me.

That sounds a little more like something Culver's would try. They had a pot roast sandwich for a while, still might.

I had a couple pot roast sandwiches at a couple different trendy places. Damn good. Short ribs too.

Sounds like something Juan would cook up.

It's available on the "secret menu", just ask for a McCleveland Steamer...

Their burgers basically are meatloaf - that's why.

I love meatloaf. They are taking it off menus and it makes me sad, but it happens to everything I like.

It's hard to work with habaneros on a cold line, they contaminate everything. Unless they are pickled.

That is something people need to be educated on... pickling vegetables is not that hard and the taste can be out of this world. It only takes a couple of minutes to prep for pickled red onions... wait 30-60mins and throw that on a taco and you are in a completely different space.

Would you eat a burger with artichokes on it? Not going for the "heart" pun, just know I have a lot of artichokes. I've been working on a potato croquette that is really good but I don't know if anyone would buy it on a burger.

Good way to use up the centers of onion slices too.

It’s worked at Farren’s in Champaign for the better part of 18 years. Best burger ever.

Maybe a spinach artichoke dip or aioli based burger. Might work well with turkey if you do turkey burgers. Goat cheese and sd tomatoes are good with artichokes too.

We have a burger with goat cheese, an oven-roasted roma tomato, marinated with balsamic and tarragon, goat cheese, arugula, and truffle aioli. It's very popular. Generally when I do the specials I subconsciously look for a cheese, a sauce (aioli or something), a protein or something substantive, and something that crunches. Usually some heat if it is called for, and/or something fresh or bright.

I did a turkey burger for January. It was pretty good, I might keep it.

FRESH Spinach (little olive oil, s&p)
Artichoke hearts (can even sear these)
Shaved Parmesan
_____ aioli
_________
Profit

You can add artichokes to that burger if you want.

provolone/parm aioli/"dip", turkey or chicken...but I don't know what would crunch onion straw type things? I'll think more...

My god some peoples taste in burgers is horrible.

At least Reason had a good suggestion.

artichoke with red pepper and a lemon herb mayo would be good but I don't know how broad an audience you'd reach.

The fire burger is great, but just give me two greasy patties on a toasted bun with onion, mustard and mayo and I’m in burger heaven. I’m a simple man.
