Depends what you are looking to do. Frenchman Street has some great live music. I liked walking around and people watching there and in the French Quarter the most. I really like the Sazerac Bar in the Roosevelt Hotel. Great meet-up spt.

I would avoid the tours. If you want to see one of the old cemeteries, St. Louis #2 is free. If you want something cultural, the National World War 2 Museum is interesting.

The Sazerac Bar @ The Roosevelt is a must stop.

When you buy something, always ask for your lagniappe if they don't give it to you.

Bigfan did have an excellent suggestion for a po'boy slushie place. Just off Bourbon is a dive bar called Erin Rose that has an excellent alcoholic frozen coffee. If you continue walking back there's a counter to get po' boys. Technically two different businesses.

Touristy but I did enjoy carousel bar at Hotel Monteleone. It's a gimmick but it was still pretty cool and they knew how to make a good cocktail.

My favorite thing to do was look up happy hours and just hit up places I wouldn't normally go. Some nice bars and restaurants had fair specials.

You should hit up Luizza’s. That is authentic New Orleans. Either take a cab there or ride the street car and then walk the rest of the way.

No bachelor party is complete without a trip to The House of Dance and Feathers.

Go to Mothers on Tchopitoulas Street, get a ham biscuit, Ferdi special (beef debris), chicken and sausage jambalaya and the bread pudding. Good cheap eats. It's not far from the Dome. Or get a toasted muffaletta from Johnny's a couple of blocks past Canal St into the Quarter.

Or if you are looking for an old line meal in the Quarter, Galatoire's. But they have a no savages dress code. Maybe Willie Mae's Scotch Scotch House or Jacque-Imo's if you want to try the actual chicken receipe that Popeyes ripped off.

Too bad you don't like seafood though.

I was thinking Kansas City or Lincoln, NE would be a more appropriate destination.

I'm going in a couple weeks for the Louisiana Derby.

Tujague's is one of my favorites.

I worked at hotel Monteleone for a spell. It was a cool bar. Strange place to work.

Scores gentlemen's club.

Cheap bottle service, I was wasted when I was there and it was late but we had a good time.

Abita Brewing does some good stuff. MANY bars will have their offerings.

That sounds a little like Verti-Marte.

Go to Verti-Matre. All That Jazz.

This is your best chance to try some seafood that you think you may like because outside of lobsters in New England, you likely won't find better stuff.

He's right. I was apprehensive too but New Orleans seafood made a believer out of me. (Still won't eat lobster, though.)

I'm taking my son down there for his 12th birthday next month. We're going to the WWII museum, but will need to fill a couple more days. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.
