Yeah. Over the last year or so I've noticed a some odd reactions at times. When I drink some wines my face gets red and feels like it's burning sometimes I'll get a couple patches of hives. I know I'm allergic to sulfa based things but the reaction has never been this bad with food.

Joined the Cameron Hughes club Bernstein pushes from time to time. So far so good. I’m not a big wine drinker but it’s ok once in a while and better paired with some red meat IMO.

Stay away from the fortified stuff.

Coppola wine is hit or miss and more often miss.

Trader Joe's still has one of the best selections of cheaper-end wines. I've tried a few from the list here: https://www.eatthis.com/best-wines-trader-joes/

By far my favorite red wine is the Prima Toro Tempranillo.

I like almost any Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. Ron Rubin is solid for the price.

Estancia 2017 Cabernet
Crane Lake 2016 Pinot Noir (that I found for $2.99 at Kenwood!)

Had both this weekend. Smooth as a gravy sandwich.

Half price wine Thursdays at one of my favorite restaurants, Flat & Point. $22 for the bottle. Hungarian grape.

I made a port wine reduction for a new burger I'm working on. It smells like communion wine.

Made some chili yesterday. Rather than beer, I dumped in half a bottle of some Cab from Costco. Drank the rest right out of the bottle while cooking. Also added in a couple ounces of bourbon. Chili turned out great.

Sent some of the Mauritson Rockpile to a friend and his wife as a gift...decided to join their wine club. Got my first delivery today.

Rejoined Cooper's Hawk today to add in some more ready to drink wines.

Last month, did a trip to California central coast. Lots of really good wine there. Been there for work (oil field) and hit Firestone Walker but this was the first time hitting wine country.

Nice! I don't know a whole lot about Paso Robles wines. I've been trying to learn more about them.

The wineries we went to were Derby, Jada, Daou (great facility up in the hills), ONX, Villa San Juliette, Opolo, LVX and Adelaida. Took home some Derby, Daou, LVX and ONX. Our group is into reds and all of these had some really good ones. Derby had some big, bold reds. And all were "reasonably" priced, probably between 30-80 bucks.

Drinking this at the moment. A 2018. I think I got it at Binny's. Around $25. Definitely worth it.

Had a nice, educational chat with my local Binny's wine dude. I told him the flavor profile I like and walked out with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet-Shiraz 2018

Picked up a couple bottles at Costco yesterday. Never had it before. Drank one while watching a movie last night. Wow...it's really good.

Good guy too.

My wife met him when they hired her former company to do some marketing for them.

Nice experiment. My last one was putting polish on a pizza. Ugh!

We did the wineries in Paso Robles a few years ago. Much more laid back than Napa. Hope to go again.

There was a brief but really interesting series on winemaking about 6-8 years ago on channel 11. If they'd been longer I'd be a wine vs liquor drinker now. It covered the full spectrum of the business and was fascinating.
