get the fancy brioche bread loaf from marianos ($5) for your french toast. it's delicious. they also sell a chocolate broiche bread that works well. or you can cut up their in store made loaf bread (banana nut is great). Worth the $5 cost as the french toast results are excellent.

generally for me I prefer french toast, then waffles..... and a distant 3rd would be pancakes.
