COVID WFH has given me reason to grill much more than I have in my life. Grilling has given me reason to try to find better and better barbeque sauce...

Throwing it out there - any sauces you find worth seeking out? I’ve found a few I like via chain BBQ places (e.g., City, RUB) but what’s the best? Anything you guys stand by?

We have a local guy who makes a pretty awesome bbq sauce. Jewell and Hyvee's around here sell it. Its called Damiens.

If you've ever been to the QCA and had Jim's Ribs, its that sauce.

I haven't bought bottled sauce in years. It's pretty easy to make it yourself.

Is this the Corky's out of Memphis, if so, you are 100% correct.

I haven't bought Corky's sauce, but I've had their BBQ while in Memphis and it was pretty fantastic, so yeah....I'd love to try their sauce.

I actually do mix my on sauce, very simple. Kraft Original BBQ Sauce, Wickers ( it is very vinagery) and Worcestershire Sauce.

For real high end meals, he mixes ketchup and mayonnaise.

Stubb's Sticky Sweet is awesome. Most of their stuff is terrific.

I stay away from the HFCS if I can.

I'll have to try it.

Last week, I made tacos. I know it doesn't fit in this thread but here is how I did it.

I bought tacos, added taco sauce to the top, and squeezed a lime on it. It's nice to make my own tacos.

You will have to order the Wickers from Missouri or get RFDC to pick it up for you.

We used to pick up Maull's BBQ sauce whenever we were down in Misery.

Do you use a baster or a brush when you are applying that to yourself?

What about the barbecue sauce from Memphis that has a guy on the label that looks exactly like Charles Grodin?

My favorite BBQ place in Memphis.

I started hitting the original Corky's back in the day based on Steve Dahl's love for them (he looked like he would know). I seem to remember him having them shipped in to the studio a few times.

And fwiw (not much anymore I guess) there used to be a Corky's outside of Springfield, IL. On a couple of occasions we were able to pick up some of slabs of ribs on the way back to Chicago. Good stuff.

Took a flyer on the Famous Dave's Natural Sweet from Costco. It's really good.

At lunch today chopped and warmed up some of the point off the brisket i smoked Saturday. Added some of that Dave's sauce. It was some of the best burnt ends ive ever had.

I would be shocked if it was the same restaurant, they stayed very local forever.

Pick up some of those spicy potato chips and corn chips they have down there, too. Wish they sold them up here.
