Nope. The best "place" is a friend that goes hunting and makes it himself...like our friend Rick....not to be confused with BRick. I like BRick, but he's never supplied us with fresh Beef Jerky.

In my entire life I've only seen two people actually eat it. And one was my roommate in Champaign.

But a chef on the Food Network highlighted a place in Cleveland that I've always wanted to try.

Do you have to have a separate license to fabricate or process a deer? I don't know that that's the correct terminology for it.

Need to keep the tag with it until it is processed into meat if it was hunted. Not sure on farm raised stuff.

When it worked at the butcher out west Id have a guy come in and ask me to slice beef for Jerky. It was always right before closing so it kind of pissed me off as I wanted to go home but whatever. He would occasionally bring in the product after he had made some if he was proud of it and shared a bit. Did it out of a tenderloin once. I can't imagine the price per pound on that shit after you dehydrate it but it was very good.
