Portnoy's frozen pizza venture



Picked it up yesterday, just made it for lunch, definetly better than your Tombstone/Jacks frozen pizza, maybe not quite as good as Home Run Inn Pizza, but still solid for a frozen pizza. I'd give it a 6.1

Jacks is 2 and half bucks. I'll try that ultra-fancy $6 pizza, but I can pretty much guarantee it isn't 2.5X better.

Jack's is $3-4 at the white Jewels.

I picked one up. its not great. as you'd have to expect.

They used to sell jacks pizzas at menards for 2.49. after 11% rebate, 2.24.

now they only have lotza motza or whatever. 6 bucks. way better than the portnoy pizza

Barstool is the strangest company. They are seemingly the "cool" brand for 30 somethings who aren't yet willing to admit that they are old but still get excited because they can buy their favorite podcast branded pizza. I have no doubt in 30 years we'll see Dave Portnoy selling reverse mortgages and The Scooter Store on The Price Is Right.

I try to get a grasp of what they are, as an outsider who might like their product and it seems like a disorganized mess. If I want to hear a host talk about life I should listen to this show but if I want to hear that same host talk about sports I should listen to a different show.

A friend of mine works for a large manufacturer of frozen pizzas, maybe the largest. They make many popular brands. Barstool appoached them with an RFP. When they submitted it they were advised their price was too high and advised of the target price. They said it was impossible to produce the pizzas at that cost. Barstool basically had the attitude that they do not care how cheap and shitty the pizza is. The brand and marketing will sell it.
